should i trade?

My sweat will turn a watch with "base metal bezel" into pitted junk.

choice of the taurus or the rossi for the ruger not both.
Even if it was a two-fer, I wouldn't do it.

Stainless isn't that much of a premium over blue.

I could have written this post myself. I finally had to buy a titanium watch because my acid sweat would reduce a Timex to rubbish in a couple of years, less if I wore it consistently in the summer.

Still, my first handgun was a S&W model 19 purchased in 1981. I lugged that gun everywhere, handled it a bunch, and carried it stuffed into my pants. It isn't rusty. A little preventative maintenance goes a long way.

I'm not sure I would trade the cheapest gun Ruger makes for the most expensive Rossi or Taurus in their lineup. I certainly wouldn't trade guns that are relatively equivalent in terms of design/function. Who cares what the finish looks like when it doesn't work.

Keep the Ruger . . . . you already have an excellent handgun that shoots well . . . why trade it for two unknowns? I'm not knocking Taurus or Rossi . . . but I have no desire to own either of those makes personally.

A "blued" for two "shiny" ones - if "looks" are the priority, then yea, they'll "shine" . . but your Ruger wil keep on putting them downrange for many many years to come.

If the finish on the Ruger bothers you - give Ruger a call and see if you could send it back to be refinished.

Ruger for a Taurus and a Rossi

Keep the Ruger. Rugers are very well made guns. Much better than either a Taurus and Rossi. If you don't have money to spend on a gunsmith then keep the blue revolver. It sounds as if you take good care of it. Just don't let it sit in the holster, keep it clean and oiled and you will be fine. The Stainless guns wont rust as quickly but Stainless will rust. Taurus and Rossi guns are a gamble. They use quality steel in them but they throw them together and have very little quality control. I have seen them where they have been excellent handguns and where they have been unreliable. I am talking about revolvers. I own several rugers and they are all good ones.

Glad to hear that you're going to keep the Ruger. It's a better gun mechanically than the Taurus. Don't worry about the blue either.
