Should I sell these guns?

I want a Springfield Armory "loaded" M1A, but I've been looking at my safe and thinking that I don't use a couple of guns, and could use their resale cost to help fund the effort. The main gun in question is a Taurus .454 Casull...matte stainless with 6.5" barrel. It looks perfect, and I love shooting it, but I don't shoot it enough, and I really want the M1A. What do you guys think?

I'm not sure I'd sell any gun right now with the possibility of a Gore White House looming in the future. Could be too difficult to buy new guns in the not-too-distant future. Instead, you might want to look into burying guns in your back yard for a rainy day.

Guyon, I see your point, but I have a few reasons not to go with it.
#1 I am tailoring my guns to hunting rifles and fighting guns (rifles and pistols). The Casull, while a hunting handgun, is not a SHTF gun. Even the best handgun hunters in the world would say the'd take a rifle if asked, "You are not recreationally hunting anymore...you must hunt to survive" I am going to get rid of the recreational guns (except the .22 pistol) and focus on fighting and survival arms.
#2 I will never bury a gun, as to wait for a "rainy day" is to wait too long. If we, as patriots don't stand when (and if) the time comes, then it will never happen.

Thanks for the responses guys...more?

Repeat after me:

"Never Sell a Good Gun."

By that I mean one that works. You'll regret it, sooner or later. Sell some stock, get a second job, whatever. Just don't sell a good one. I've set up a special savings plan (that's a bit of a pain to access) just for such purposes.

All together now:

"Never Sell a Good Gun."

I just cannot believe that you've not sent me your "FOR SALE" list yet.

No guys, it's ok for him to sell a gun, just as long as he sells it to another pro-gunner :)

By selling it, he is arming another citizen, which is a good deed.

That's exactly it. I don't use the guns anyway, and maybe someone else can use 'em more. I'm definately going for the fighting arms now more than ever, because I see more practicality with them. Besides, do you guys know how hard it is to get an elk into Casull range? Ok, weird things happen, but the extra range of a rifle is nice. Every hunting season, I leave the Casull and take the rifle.

I think the best suggestion would be to hang on to it.. You can never get enough weapons, "guns" Think it over hard. You will regret it.. Especially being a good hand gun.

You can do some pretty hard fighting with a 454 Casull!

As long as you are selling it to fund another gun (one which I presume you will get more use from) then it's okay.
I think that the only times one should sell a gun are when the money is used to buy another gun, or when one falls upon hard financial times and is basically forced to do so. Even then only as a last resort.

Yeah, right, opposing either big Brother's thugs or assault rifle armed looters with a Casull! I wouldn't want to oppose a couple of kids armed with 22 lever actions with nothing but a Casul.

I wouldn't sell the 454 for anything. Especially if I could shoot it without getting hammer imprints in my forehead. May need it as a tank penetrator if Gore gets elected. OOPS, did I say something bad there????? :D

Put it up in the Handguns for Sale section of TFL. Let another TFL'er take it off your hands. Best of all worlds. You get your M1, the gun gets a good home where it'll be loved and cared for like you would, fed and watered, a good education, maybe you could even visit on holidays! :)
