Should I buy a 22

Buy. Beginner's love them because they aren't so scary and experts love them because they're cheap and accurate.

Besides, when all is said and done, if you could only have one ... oh sorry, waaaay different thread :D

Like a lot of things, you can get a good one for x a better one for x+ and go on from there.

STOP IT!!! STOP IT!!!

I've been telling myself that I don't need a .22 ever since I knew I could get a really nice wood stocked rifle with a 1" outside diameter barrel (really massive) for $75 plus shipping. The only downside is that it's weight is comparable to a Garand, but it had the recoil of a rubber-band gun.

All these comments are making me want one even more.

hube1236, "Ask not, 'Should I buy a .22.', ask, 'HOW MANY!!'"! For me, it was, is and will be a .22rf that goes in the box with me. I "kinda" like centerfires, too. ;) I agree with everybody, but DC and Lucas said it best!
anodes.

An added advantage is having a low-recoil handgun available for those times when you actually convince an anti to give it a try. Centerfire might scare 'em off, but a .22 will convert them!
