Shot Placement for mounting a Squirrel

shotgun with 7 1/2 or trapping. drowning works great, or if that bothers you use a 110 connibear. stick a cob of corn right on the prongs. quick and easy :D

My brother in law did a squirrel for my dad. It's an Aberts, so it's a bit smaller than a fox. I used #8 shot with a cylinder choke, and it left very small, widespread holes. The squirrel turned out great. It's at full draw on a GI-Joe-sized compound.

Thru the ribs. The mounter will determine how to position it to hide and bad damage.

For shotgun-larger shot. Fox are tough-tougher than the blacks/grays I have here. I just about never see a fox squirrel here. Saw one about 3 mi from the house last week. It was along the edge of the road getting salt Id bet.
