Shot my new High Power...

My competion gun for IDPA is an FEG hi-power. I've shot it so much I'm wearing the blue off the grip. Load your mags before you go.. buy many mags. They are cheap and plentiful. Maybe the best 9mm ever made. (the disconnecter is really really easy to remove and drasticly improves the trigger) as others have noted if you use parkerized mags you can FEEL the tigger dragging.. wierd but true.

Those 17 round mags need a LOT of break in time i don't coinsider them reliable, still they were cheap.

I use a houge monogrip and have consideredusing skateboard tape on the backstrap, or parkerizing the entire lower. its not pretty, but its functional.

Mike-

Have you tried Federal's No. 9BP ammo? It typically shoots best of any 9mm I've tried. My son had a "stock" Mk. III that would put five shots of it into one tight hole at 10 yards. It's also shot well for me in a couple of other HP's and a Star Model B.

Hello. Another standard pressure load that does well out of HPs, at least the ones I've shot, is Federal's 124 gr Nyclad.

Best.

The Hi-Power is one of my favorite handguns. I recommend removing the mag disconnect safety, as this will help improve the trigger. However, if you do remove the disconnect safety, make sure you install a stronger trigger spring! I removed mine, and I couldn't be happier with the gun. The only problem with the Hi-Power is the long trigger reset, which comes in to play if you do any rapid firing. Other than that, its a great gun!!
