Shot my first duck last weekend.

Congrats on the hit, every once in a while one will get away on a guy. I use a lot bigger shot than #4s when shooting ducks. If I were you I may step up to a BB and when shooting steel remember that speed kills, 1550fps works the best on waterfowl.

I shoot 3.5" Kent BB at 1625fps, that smacks a bird, hard.

I use 3 inch #2 Black Cloud and it beats them ducks up. Pass shooting or decoying it straight knocks them down.
