Short barrel ammo choice.

Whichever recoil of the two you find the least punishing to you.

The guy on the recieving end is gonna have an awful day regardless.

Jim Downey...I'll be interested in seeing the .380 data...would you post a "heads up" thread here so we can check it out?

I've a friend who's enamored with a Sig shortie in that caliber...pretty sure it's a Sig...expensive is what I remember most about it's particulars. It's a .380 and I have no idea what velocity he'd be getting out of a short barrel. Based on what I've seen...expansion is a problem if velocities are much below 900-1000 fps...but again I'm only familiar with water as a medium..

If I get lucky this year in the deer season, I'd like to try a cpl of my own loads on some of the neck meat that's unusable.

Regards, Rodfac

Jim...just found the BBTI blog you mentioned...I've saved it and will check from time to time...many thanks, Rod

We'll be testing a Sig P238 with a 2.7" barrel. The shortest "real world" gun we'll be testing is a Sterling with 1.625". Should be interesting.
