After action report.
Fired it this morning, horses didn't jump the fence, no windows were shattered and no holes opened up in the space-time continuum. Recoil was as described, just a straight shove that was not at all painful. I have an early 700 Rem with the steel buttplate and 20" barrel in 30-06 that is much more unpleasant to shoot than this thing. My son and his cousin also shot and everybody's reactions were the same, great big SE grin. As someone said, the most fun you can have with your pants on.
Muzzle report was also as stated, HUGE. We have neighbors about 1/2 mile away who are avid deer hunters that consider the 300 Win. mag. to be marginal for whitetail so they practice alot with some very big rifles. But I believe that I now hold the neighborhood record for most noise from a rifle.
Thanks again for all your input. Mick
P.S. I did hit the quart bottle on the first shot!
