Sheriff says NO!

Interesting !!!

"No. We don't need that. Everybody around here takes Hunters' Ed., and we'll take your word for it on being military. But we do need you to check the box for it."
Glad to see that we still have places that takes a man's word for it. .... :)
I think I would check with the state, instead of the sheriff, to see if it's legal or not
Originally, in Iowa it was left entirely up to each county's Sherriff to accept or reject. Many county Sheriffs were not serving the folks so the state set the rules. However, you still have to go through the Sherriff's office to do the background check and issue the permit. There can be a max waiting period and regardless, the permit will be issued automatically. .... :)

Be Safe !!!

Perhaps the Sheriffs' here in Idaho have some issuing discretion, Frankenmauser in 1B didn't need to show proof of any training, here in 1L (Latah) our Sheriff wants some documented proof probably because we have a University here which of course brings in liberalism with all it's feel good stuff, other than that we are a pretty traditional bunch.

Man am I spoiled. Here in Az no permit needed to carry concealed and I can carry whatever I want! That is what I think the 2 nd amendment is all about!!!

what, that sheriff sure knows what better for you than you do. remember this on election day. BTW, don't go out and buy a NAA mini revolver 'til then.

They dropped that restriction from the license now. You can qualify with revolver, or semi auto and carry either one.
And you can renew online without having to take the test anymore.
I just got mine renewed and it has no restrictions on the back, or stating SA like it used to.
