The police had a warrant (based on incorrectly given information) to search for evidence of child pornography. That's why they seized computers, videotapes, etc. Held at gunpoint? I doubt the police were pointing at the family. I'm sure they had to secure the area and that means temporary (and lawful) restraint of the occupants. I've been on a couple of "low key" white collar searches and even those can be tense. You never know what's going to happen. One guy tried to take a flying header out of a window. Who knows what he would have done if he had a weapon. Give the cops some slack. 99% of them are good guys.
