When 80% of Americans oppose this bill and the Pols push it anyway, what does that tell us? What. Does. That. Tell Us?
We're no longer represented. There's sand in the Vaseline folks...

It's a place to start.

It's still not a done deal but we have only days to make the fax and phone lines catch fire between DC and Hometown, USA.

The deciding vote may come no later than Thursday I believe.

No, the senate didn't. The vote was just to bring the bill back to the floor. Therre are 24 amendments now pending for debate and voting. Which amendments pass will determine what the bill will do IF it passes.

They are going to push it through for the two year work visas without all the protections US workers and they can be discarded and thrown out if they wanted to not be slave labour.

The rest is just utter bs and if anything its seems likely there to embarrass the president if anything. As if anyone can believe its really amnesty and not a joke that it should be classed as. To accept this they have to turn themselves in to the authorities, get kicked out the country eventually through deportation and then can came this new status. Now they are required to pay over $3000 in fines and then the fees for filing and so on. Now and then possibly 7-10 years down the line they get a greencard if they are lucky. No one could possibly believe anyone is going to take this especially when they could claim a greencard after living illegally in the US for seven years.

ALL I have to say.......elections MATTER. The people get the government they pick.

The story of the rescued snake being nursed back to health then fatally biting their rescuer....the snakes comment......what did you expect, you knew I was a snake when you picked me up...........

There was a REASON the Dems were without power for so long.........

Not over yet.

I think some voted to allow this bill to progress for more debate so they can say at least they were open to listen. It's one thing to say I was willing to listen, but it's another to say I actually voted yes. So, when it comes to the actual passage they will have a much harder time getting it passed. Then if it does pass it has to make it through the House.

I'm done and I quit. The dream (lie???) is over as far as I am concerned. From today forward I will take care of myself and my family only without ANY of my previously held beliefs.

And Senor Jorge Boosh is TOTALLY with it. :barf:

Huge problem in America is that corporations now control government, and have no concern for the people or the country, bottom line it is simply greed. It will be a growing problem in coming years and at what point will our system fall apart I certainly don't know.

The elite and those in power believe(in my opinion) none of the following problems like immigration, outsourcing, trade deficit, loss of manufacturing base will affect them but in time it will reach all of us and then what.(?)

The same could be said for the "reason" that Republicans were out of power for so long. The same could be said of when old Ronnie signed away our fun with full auto rifles. Don't you know some of the biggest supporters of the bill are high ranking Republicans? Señor Jorge Caminador Bush for example? How about Juan McCain? Yeah...

This all goes back to the electronic voting machines folks.

The politicians are no longer afraid of the people because they will be reelected regardless of what the people want as long as they serve the corporate interests thanks to the "help America vote act" that Bush pushed resulting in new electronic machines everywhere.

This bill is simply one of the most stupid bills on immigration I've seen, it will
increase illegal immigration and the overall cost will be huge, any fines paid
by illegals will be returned to them 3 fold the following year via earned income credit.

The stupidity of your argument makes me chuckle in real life. The same could be said for the "reason" that Republicans were out of power for so long. The same could be said of when old Ronnie signed away our fun with full auto rifles. Also are you completely out of your mind? Don't you know some of the biggest supporters of the bill are high ranking Republicans? Señor Jorge Caminador Bush for example? How about Juan McCain? Yeah...
