Sellier & Bellot ammo?

I used to use this ammo a lot to function test pistols I worked on. I kept a batch in the tool box in my truck. After a hard rain I went to go check some 45's. Opened the box and the ammo was a little moist, like humidity had gotten to it.

Long story short, every round was a dud, like shooting a .22.

That was my last session with S&B.

Phil,

I saw $4.99 for 9mm on Natchez site the other day. I'm not sure how much more the .45 is but normally it runs around $8 per box from places like cheaper than dirt. I doubt Natchez is much less.

I'm trying to find decent cheap ammo, and S&B is the closest I can find, however, I like Wolf because its cheap. If I continue to use that, will it hurt the gun?

In .45 FMJ, S&B is on par with Federal American Eagle of the same spec. Both are somewhat dirty (the Eagle is dirtier in my weapons) but both function fine in an HK compact. The S&B seems to have a little less flash.

S&B brass is very good and in more than 3000 rounds of .45 fired I have had no problems with it.

The S&B boxes are more tightly packed and take up less room in a range bag.

I bought some of mine from Ammoman ($209/case with shipping)and the rest from Machine Gun Kelly in Phoenix ($180/case, you have to pick 'em up).

S&B has a slightly acrid odor, Winchester white box has a sulfurous odor, and American Eagle is somewhat in between.

All seem to be more accurate than CCI Blazer.

"He said Glocks were intended for military use, and designed for premium ammo. "

Regarding the above statement, does that mean that the military shoots match-grade stuff? I thought Glocks could eat just about anything, now they need premium ammo? Maybe I'm just misinterpreting the "Premium Ammo" description.
