I have seen any Internet adds for Seller & Bellot Ammo, I am thinking aout getting it in 9MM and 45 ACP, FMJ. Any comments or advise.

Thanks

I tried some of their 9mm in my faithful SIG P210. It functioned well , but did not seem to be as accurate as Fiochii ammunition in the same pistol.

I like it and use it in both of those calibers. It's always been accurate in my 9mms, and the P97 loves it in .45. If the cost is equal to other brands, I'd pick the S&B. :)

I've used S&B, Denel, PMP, Magtech, and IMI, with fairly large quantities of each.

They all shoot similarly -- accurate, reliable, etc. -- but Denel seems to be a bit milder than most, and the S&B a bit hotter. S&B is the dirtiest, but it is my ammo of choice for 9mm.

(The .45, in my experience, seems to be a milder shooting .45 acp than some. I like it too.)

I've used the S&B 9mm extensively in my Beretta. Having never had a problem with it, I stocked up. The first time I shot my Walther P99, I had a few jams. I thought it was the gun until I tried the S&B in my friend's Glock 17. It jammed the Glock too. Not every round, but once a mag, or so.

Thus, if your gun is finicky about which ammo it will feed, I'd try a box or two before I buy any large amounts.

I've used it in .45 in a 1911 with no problems. It is a little dirty, but seems accurate enough.

In a word, dirty. The barrel and inner slide surfaces were covered with loose, black soot, kind of greasy. The red laquer in the primer blows back everywhere, and I was a bit concerned about the sticky stuff getting somewhere and rehardening, though I don't know that is possible. Accuracy? Didn't do a side by side comparison, but it was fine for informal matches in my 9mm. No jams. For the same money, I'll stick with WW white box.

I shoot S&B 9mm exclusively in my CZ75B. After testing no less than 10 brands and loads, nothing shot more accurately than S&B. It's cheap, it's good. Just like the CZ75B.

Go figure.

I have shot it with no problems. It feeds flawlessly and is sealed good. It is also packaged very compact to save space if you are thinking of storing.

I've used a mess of it, in .45, 9 mm, .32 and .25. I like the packaging, the ammo is always very bright (with an odd yellow color to the jacket) and I've never had a misfire. They have some odd-shaped bullets (weird European truncated cones and things) that feed very well. It's not particularly powerful, but it's fine practice ammo. I prefer it to the Win USA and the Rem UMC stuff. Czechs make nice stuff.

Have used a good bit of it with no problems. Like the winchester better, it is more expensive.

I just bought 1000 rounds.I love it!!! Clean, inexpensive, and "oil proof". This means that the primer is sealed with wax to prevent destruction by oils and solvents. This is good stuff!!! :) :) :)

I've used thousands of S&B .45 ACP rounds without any problems. It may be SLIGHTLY dirtier than Federal American Eagle, Winchester White box, etc. -- but it is perfectly fine target, plinking or even competition ammunition.

I've only used a box of the stuff and agree with everyone above. If you get into reloading, the S&B brass is pretty good too, I've loaded some over 7 times....

Good plinking ammo in 45acp, didn't notice it being any dirtier than Fed Am. Eagle.

Their 357 magnum though - fire that stuff through a 357 snubbie and you'll need a surgeon to dig the gun out of your hand (yes, I did it). Hot hot HOT!

Battler.

I've probably shot about 3000 rounds of the S&B 9mm without a single failure.

This is the newer S&B, brass and boxers...

Rob 96 over on rugerforum.com posted that he called Ruger recently and they advised him to AVOID THE FOLLOWING AMMO CHOICES:

SELLIER & BELLOT
3D
WOLF BRAND FROM RUSSIA

I had a Kahr K9 that the S&B wreaked havoc upon since it tends to be loaded on the hot side. I had to send the Kahr back for a new extractorand mag release button as well as a few other components that I can't recall right now.

I recently shot 50 S&B 230 grain ball rounds through a Ruger P97 with no trouble but man was it dirty!

I don't know your friend Rob, so can't vouch for his veracity, but S&B is not nearly as hot as Plus P ammo, and the Ruger handguns are supposedly OK for Plus P... My CZ-75 an CZ-85 love it; I'm told they were disigned with that ammo in mind.

In other words, I find it hard to believe that a Ruger semi-auto isn't going to stand up to the battering of S&B ammo. They're like TANKS!

On the other hand, 3D seems to have a problem with quality control and more than one shooter has suggested that Wolf may [don't know for sure] be just a little bit corrosive. Neither of those conditions hold true for S&B.

Am waiting for time to go to the range. To shoot the case of S&B 45 I bought last weekend at the gun how. Got it at a decent price. $159 for the case, but a case of s&b 45 is only 850 rds. s&B .223 hasn't given me any problems. I put just about a case (1000 rds) of it through 2 AR's that are rather dirty ( Haven't been clean in over 500 rds. )
