Self-Defense TV

I love that show. It really ticks my wife off, when I get up from watching something with her at 10:30 on Sundays to go watch. I have to keep explaining that it's the only time the show runs.

any news about the 2007 season? Is there anyway to see the show online? I always am a day late and a dollar short!!

yes they do repeat the episodes. Thw 1st one I recorded was on a Sunday afternoon. But I think they come on different times of the week. I'm not surre as I have the DVR recording using the name "personal defense TV. Hey Tom how can a fan get one of those "PDTV" caps you wear?;)

Had the wife watch the 5 things to do after a shooting.

Ayoob gave 5 things to do say after a shooting.

He said do not just shut up and yell lawyer.

1) Tell the police "there is the man that attacked me"
2) Tell the police you will sign a complaint against your attacker.
3) Point out evidence.
4) Point out witnesses.
5) Tell the police you will fully cooperate in 24 hours after consulting with an attorney.

I recorded 2 episodes on my TVO and enjoyed both today. I have it set up to record all episodes. I am also recording American Rifleman and Guns and Ammo.

Great TV on the outdoor channel and I hear no anti-gun rhetoric.

Well I have every eposide from this season on my DVR, and they're showing re-runs when it airs now.

I really enjoy watching the show. Any word on when new episodes will air?

This last season's worth of programs was top-notch except for the ammunition episode...

I know Hornady makes great ammo. I carry 200gr XTPs in my 1911 but was still a little put-off by the show...

How much free ammo and cash does Hornady give you guys to be the only ammunition maker ever mentioned? That ammunition show was nothing more than an infomercial for Hornady so it went well beyond the realm of regular product-placement...

It better be a lot or you guys are being taken.

Well I somewhat agree with the gratutious use and mention of Hornday, but let's face it, the first season of a TV show is somewhat at the mercy of the advertisers, and this initial blatant advertising and the money that comes from it may be necessary to ensure a future for the show. After all, TV wouldn't exist without advertising. Same with radio.

I think once PDTV gets a larger fan base, and it's proven that a certain number of people watch it, they will have a little more say over what gets advertised and how.

At least, that's the way I see it. Anyone else care to comment?

Tom, give us some e-mail addresses and phone numbers of people we can contact to tell them how much we like the show.

I have them all on DVR too. Now I just need to get an external hard drive so I can load them into my laptop and make a DVD

Can we download it yet? To get the Channel, I have to upgrade cable and buy a slew of sports channels I don't want.
I called Directv, and they want an extra $49.95 a month for it and a bunch of channels I have no interest in.
I had to pass. But I do enjoy Guntalk on podcast. :)

Like all other current shows about firearms, it's not very good at all. -

A couple of guys on there talking about self defense tactics for 5 minutes and then product showcase, advertisement, advertisement, advertisement. a segment on a way to draw then repeat advertisements. Then about midway there is a selection on self defense procedures that most here on TFL already know and then advertisements, advertisements, advertisements.

It's just not worthy of a viewing to me.... there was one section where Massad Ayoob was talking about correct pocket holsters and the way to draw and I thought that was a good portion and also introduced me to Mr. Ayoob, whom I had never seen but just heard about, he's a good guy and very knowlegable.

The rest of them get on my nerves though somewhat, I don't feel that the current firearm related television shows represent what we as armed citizens are as a whole to the many misinformed people who wish to have armed citizenship a distant memory.

Call DIRECT TV back. The person you talked to is mis-informed. You can add any channel that is part of a package for $1.99 per month. The girl I talked to didn't know it either but she said she'd "research it". She came back and signed me up. $2 a month is nothing for this show, plus Shooting gallery, cowboy shooting, guns and ammo TV, lots of hunting shows.

Thanks! I called them up today and requested the outdoor channel and they hooked me up for $1.99. Appreciate all the help :)

The show's website says: "THIS PROGRAM IS NOT AIRING ON THE OUTDOOR CHANNEL AT THIS TIME."

Is it because the season is over and all the shows are re-runs now?

Are new episodes going to air in 2007?

I haven't heard any news..
