The honest measure of the protective benifits of guns are the lives saved, the injuries prevented, the medical costs saved, and the property protected, not a burglar or rapist body count.
Only 0.1%(1 in 1000) of the defensive uses of guns results in the death of the predator.
Any study that states figures like "a homeowner is 43 times more likely to kill a family member" is a fallacy.
That only counts bodies and will expectedly underestimate the benefits of guns a 1000 fold.
That would be like saying that finding slim-fast in the fridge of over-weight people causes obesity.
Would anyone suggest that the only measure of the benefit of police is the number of people they kill each year?
65 lives protected by guns for every life lost to a gun.
