SCOTUS makes Heller total victory for 2a. Will that change your vote/affiliation?

With gun ownership an accepted right, would that change how you vote?

  • Yes -- I'll let my socially liberal side out and vote democrat from now on!

    Votes: 2 2.2%
  • No -- guns are only part of my conservative agenda, conservatives for me still!

    Votes: 65 69.9%
  • Not affected either way -- I've never been a single issue voter.

    Votes: 26 28.0%

A Supreme court ruling, even a series of them, isn't the whole fight, it's just the start. The degree to which the government can actively attack a right the Supreme court is willing to acknowledge is astonishing. Expect the coming Democratic Congress and White house to launch all out war on guns, regardless of how Heller goes.

Actually, it might make me a little more likely to vote Republican, I'd have to conclude they weren't quite as bad on judicial appointments as I've been thinking.

In the real world that's certainly true, though in the make believe world I posted about the ruling is so definitive that the work is virtually done.

If we do win Heller and win the ensuing fights (I know, I know, a couple of decades at least) then hopefully it will change the political environment enough so that guns will no longer be a serious political issue. No doubt there will be holdouts, but hopefully gun ownership will once again be just a normal, accepted thing.

In that environment, if it happens and if I am still alive when it does, I definitely would change some of my voting habits. As described above.

Christy Brinkley, and we'll get together with Superman and Wonder Woman for dinner.

Superman? Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Anyway, the Democrats would benefit from a strong RKBA Heller decision as folks who are dead set against the legacy of Bush but worry about the RKBA would be free to vote Democratic. So if I were the Democrats, I would call up their judges and say - go for the guns!!

I'll continue to work with and belong to the GOP, because their STATED core values mesh with mine. And I'll hoist a few -- not while I'm carrying, of course -- to the court and its clear-eyed members.

And I'd pay a buck to see Keith Obermann's head explode!

I will never vote for a democrat as long as I live. I'm not that conservative but I'm not a socialist and that's what the Dems should change their name to. The Reps ain't too far away from socialism either.
