Scope suggestion for varmint AR

One of my friends just got the BSA Catseye 4-16X44.

I haven't personally tested it out yet, but he seems to like it.

I have this BSA 4-16x illuminated mil dot reticle scope on my AR and it has been awesome. I picked it up on amazon for under $100. Is it Leupold scope quality? Probably not. I own a couple Leupold scopes and they're nice but this one, functionally, is just as nice and you can't beat it for the price.

I concur with Mobuck. I was shooting dogs (prairie dogs) Sunday with a Savage 223 using this Pentax scope. http://www.opticsplanet.net/pentax-4x-12x40mm-gameseeker-2-water-proof-hunting-riflescopes.html I have no complaints about this scope at all. According to the range finder the longest shot was 250 yds.

I went Nikon Monarch 6-24x50mm flavor. Side Focus as well.

First group with 60gr V-Max hand loads.
