Scope for 10/22 on a budget

the question

asking what is a good cheap scope sounds like how ugly of a girl would you pick up. You don't want the ugly girl/cheap scope but sometimes that is all you can get at the time.

Keep in mind that cheap scopes all have almost nothing inside but plastic, and the BSA and Bushnell will have plastic lenses as well. Everything in that range. I may not have done any better, but I really like my $100 Nikon 4x that I got from Walmart. I wish the makers were more forthcoming about construction, as Burris was, back when they were making their case against Leupold.
I think the prudent thing to do is to get the BSA or Swift for now, and look around at garage sales and the like for the really right one. If I could find a Burris 6 x 24 at a garage sale for $100, I'd mount it on one of my .22 rifles within one hour.

I know it's been said already but, I put a $30 BSA fixed 4x from wal-mart on my 10/22 five years ago and it's still dead on. plenty of light gets collected for spotlighting at night or just shooting in low light. I was surprised by the performance of this little scope and i'm sure u will be too.

I second the Nikon Buckmaster 4x40 on sale at Natchesz for $99. Should be a bright scope with accurate tracking. That's something you can't say for most of the cheap scopes.
