Scope for 10/22 on a budget

I was wondering what the best budget scope, <$100, would be for a Ruger 10/22. Shooting would be 50-150 yards. Do the BDC reticles work?

^^ Yup. Inexpensive Bushnell 3-9x40 that Wally World sells fits the bill rather nicely. I think I picked up mine for $50, IIRC...

I would doubt the BDC would work on a .22 rifle. Many believe it truly only works on fixed power scopes, like the Super Sniper series etc.. I have a simmons on my Ruger and it fits the bill very well. You can get them at Academy for under 50 bucks. Mine has never lost zero.

I put a $30+/- fixed 4x BSA from WalMart on my 10/22 last year. Sighted it in once and it's still right there. Nice clear / bright picture too. Bought another one for my muzzle loader.

A bushnell banner 3-9X40 will run you just under $100 and is a decent scope for a plinker .22 rifle. I have three of them and never had a problem with any of them.

I'm finally going to beat sholling to the punch ;) and recommend the Weaver 4x shotgun scope. It's a $250 scope that's been discontinued and marked down to $80. I ran it against the (similar fixed-4x, 50-60-yard-parallax) Leupold FX-I Rimfire scope and liked it much better, personally, and I would prefer the Weaver even if it cost $200-ish like the Leupold. Rimfire scopes are generally parallax-adjusted for shorter ranges, but they look fine as close as I care to bring a target and I've used a loose one as a monocular to check things out as far as 200 yards. The depth of field is very, very wide on a fixed-4x.

Every couple months I go back and order an extra, ever since I lent my CZ-453 to a first-time shooter at the range and got a chipped lens for my trouble. All you guys need to order up the rest so I can stop doing that. :D

Try a Pentax scope

Pentax makes a range of scopes and they are all gauranteed for life, even against accidental damage. In other words if you drop it, you can send it back to them and for a nominal fee, I think it's $20, they send you a new one. The can be hard to find. I got mine from Midway.

I have a Simmons 3x9x32 22 mag on my Savage 93fv 22wmr. reason I picked it was It has the dial adjustments for elevation dials. I hate using a screwdriver to adjust them. and It works pretty well, got a 90:)lb hog at 50 yards with it. I paid like 89 bucks for It.
