On the plus side.
Some have stated that the magazines are cheap but more correctly, inexpensive. They are stamped S.M., ribbed and plenty tough ....

This is a big plus for the MK-II family as I have a 10-round magazine that is over 25yrs. old and darn if it didn't fit my new one. There are literally hundreds of this design still out there. The highest capacity that I have seen and own, are the 10-round magazines, in white and black metal. Just take a spare one along and match it up. currently they are running between $15.00 and $20.00, for "new". ....

I picked up an extra 5 round mag from a local hunting shop for $12. Along with a box of CCI 22LR "quiet" (yes, single box. That particular shop is still imposing a one box per day limit on ammo 
)
I also did this last night while watching TV with a $35 Flambeau tactical case, and exacto knife and some velcro tipped webbing.
One thing I finally found that I don't care for is the fact that if you don't hold the magazines just right, they are like inserting a razor blade into the action

Congratulation. That's a fine rifle. I myself picked up a MkII last week. It was an impulse buy I walked into the LGS, saw a left handed one, looked it over and went home. I couldn't get it off my mind, so I went and bought it the next morning for $199.95. I put the Redfield Revolution 2-7x33 scope on it that had been living on my Marlin 336W. You'll get a lot of enjoyment outta that rifle.

I would have preferred the longer barrel like yours myself, but the LGS didn't have one available. And I was trying to justify buying mine over the air rifle I was planning on, due to the fact the FV-SR was a meager few dollars more. Funny side note, I just bough that very same sling for mine tonight

Lucky indeed sir. Before the two following events I had maybe 150 + or - rounds of LR on hand:
My brother in law moved into a new house beginning of this year. He found a "coffee can" full of "bullets". He, having no interest in firearms, gave me said "bullets. turned out to be TWO of the biggest antique coffee can I've ever seen. Each can was about a foot tall and dang near as wide...containing somewhere in the neighborhood of over 2000 rounds of Un opened assorted brands/types of .22 LR. ( one can had about 12 packs of CCI stingers)
The next couple weeks I happened by a LGS. I walked in and there on the counter, were two 500 round bricks of CCI standard velocity Match.....for pre panic federal bulk pack price I bought both. Another shop near me regularly has the large bulk packs of CCI plated HP Mini-mags for fair prices.

Okay fellas, since we've been in the low teens to sub-0 temps for what seems like FOREVER. I haven't been able to get to the range, between work and the snow. I couldn't take it any more and decided heck or high water I was going to shoot this thing.
I put the rifle in the truck and headed out to my folks place. After showing the rifle to dad, and getting a hearty laugh out of him when I asked if he wanted to venture the 15 min walk through the snow and 9* temp. I headed out with the rifle, a staple gun target board and two full ten round magazines.
<EDIT> I got the scope a few weeks ago and it turned out to be a defective one. There are thousands of mico bubbles in the center lens, don't ask me how neither I, or the LGS owner missed it when mounting the dern thing at his shop To top it off, while the scopes elevation adjustment is just fine, the windage was surprisingly only an inch off to the right....but no matter how far you turn the knob, there is no movement. (mil-dot saved the day on that one for this shooting session
)
The short of that story is the replacement scope is in route to me.

I will be doing a full report with about 9 different types of .22 at different ranges, once it both warms up (over 30*) and the new scope is mounted.
This was between 25-30 yards (my range markers I put out years ago are long gone) kneeling, leaned against a tree. Shooting Eley Subsonic LHPs.

Best value rifle I ever bought!
I bought the fv-sr to host a Liberty Kodiak TL can I'm waiting for, and it has become my favorite gun!
It easily outshouts my 10/22 which was always very accurate. For the features it has (bull barrel, threaded, picatinney rail, adjustable trigger, and free floated barrel) you really can beat the price ($250 out the door for me).
The stock is not very nice but it works just fine. For $100 you can get a boyds tacticool stock which is larger and more solid feeling.
The more expensive target model is (according to several range tests I've seen around the internet) not worth the extra money. It has the same barrel, only slightly longer, and with .22LR going above 16" doesn't really give you more velocity anyway so its so surprise they are both just as accurate, the target model is nicer looking however.
In short, you won't find a better performing rifle in the same price range. If you prefer a more solid stock or the nice wood/stainless look, you can pay more for the target models but you won't get any better performance.
