Savage 93 17 HMR with bore barrel

I'ts being shipped to my FFL. I would like to use a Vortex 4X12 Crossfire II scope. What mount and rings will work best?
 
I have no idea what you're trying to do here or how much you want to spend. If your question is "what is the best quality" base and rings, there are a few I can suggest. I own a number of Savage rimfires in various calibers. I personally like the EGW one piece Pictinny base and either use Warne rings or Burris Signature Zee rings. In the real world, any set of rings and base will work fine on the gun, even the ultra cheapies. There is no recoil to really cause a problem and I've never seen anyone have a problem as long at the screws were blue loc-tited and secure on the base and rings.
 
I've been liking the Burris Signature rings but I've recently (as in still waiting for delivery) switched over to DNZ Game Reaper one-piece mounts. Check the reviews. No need to spend $30 on a base and $50 on rings. One-piece unit for $65.
 
i second the DNZ set up they can be had for 50 on ebay all day i have two sets on rimfire guns they are rock solid.
 
I used the bases that came with my rifle, Burris Signature rings & a Centerpoint 4x16 40MM scope from Wally world.
Had the DNZ mount been available I'd used it.
I shot this at 100 yards 25 rounds back to back. I was 69 years young then.

That rifle seems to like all ammo I feed it, been thinking of swapping the plastic stock out for a Boyd's but would it shoot as good?
 
Actually it is what Savage calls a heavy barrel. Thanks for the tips. I have a cheappie set of Weavers I will shoot first but will look at the DNZ mount

Good point and if you ever decide to get an after-market stock from Boyds, as I recently did, this is how they refer to them as well. .... ;)

My 17 HMR comes with a laminated stock. I order a Boyds stock for my 10/22. I then had to order a .920 barrel to use the stock. I'am happy with the end results. These two should end my "rimfire only" on Sunday before 12 range restriction arsenal. Thanks again.
