Savage .17 hmr heavy barrel?

Well, it would shoot alot better if bass pro had properly mounted the scope. Had nice consistent groups 3" to the left of where i aimed. Probably put 30 clicks of windage adjustment into it with no change. Took it back, had it properly mounted and checked that the windage adjusted. They said if it still doesnt seem right bring it back and they will replace the scope

The lack of movement when adjusted could be a problem but it's not there business to sight in the scope for you. Feel lucky it was on paper and the fact that it was 3" off outta the box does not mean the scope was improperly mounted. Ya want them to come out and shoot if for ya too?

When i say poorly mounted one side of the rings were fully tightened and one side hardly catching thread. The rear ring was a little loose on the base as well. They bore sighted it. Scope adjusted just fine before the last guy mounted it.

to follow up on this post, i had it remounted PROPERLY this time, took it out and had zero problems with the windage adjustment.

I have heavy stainless with the spiral fluting (looks cool! special run for Cabelas).

I routinely shoot 100-150 rounds at a setting and it doesn't get THAT hot-I've only had it for 3 months, so it's been cooler weather...might be different in the summer!
