Sako Finnlight versus Tikka T3 Lite

I own 3 tikkas now, contemplating trading two of them in for a fancier rifle but heck I use my rifles and don't just look at them.

The sakos have push feed I think but extraction never bothered me with my t3, actually plenty of people with sakos complain that the ejection on theirs ding the scopes.

sure the t3 have plastic mags and whatnot but you can get that replaced, I am probably doing that to my 308.

Last year I used my Tikka T3 Lite in .270 Win for its first hunting season. Several of my hunting buddies commented and said " I may as well brought a Nerf gun."

After the hunting season I let those guys shoot it with any factory ammo they had...2 of the 4 of them now own Tikka's instead of their Rem 700's.

I LOVE my Tikka its light accurate and fits me well. I'd buy another if I needed to.

I've done a lot of gunsmithing/rifle accurizing over too many years to think about. I've been able to get half-minute or better accuracy out of many rifles, including Remingtons, Winchesters, and a wood-stocked Tikka 95. In fact, I'd never owned a rifle/stock that I haven't tweaked until I bought a T3 Lite in .243 Win.

It does about everything I want in a light-weight hunting rifle, including shooting better than half-minute groups. It's way more rifle than most in it's price range.

If a person has a Sako and loves it, wonderful! Just don't try to put others down for loving something else. I can now afford Sakos, but find them over-priced for what I want to do with hunting rifles. Actually, nothing fits me any better than a factory Rem 700 stock design.

I also own a fantastic .270 Win, Rem 700 Stainless that came in a laminated stock, but, depending on season, now wears either a pretty Ultra-Walnut stock from Stocky's (for the gun cabinet and range queen duties), or an HS Precision stock for thrashing about, hunting Maine deer. (They both shoot to the same POI.)

Ooo! such a controversy over two Finnish rifles. Is there that much difference between them. I haven't got a clue. But I do know the gent who owns both wins the debate.
