Saddam Possessed WMD, Had Extensive Terror Ties and CNS has the Evidence

Funny, if you had similar evidence supporting your side of the arguement you'd be waving it about and daring anyone to refute it. The allegation that the intel was ether stolen or leaked illegally really doesn't lessen the impact or veracity of the intel itself, does it?

Just an observation - matter of fact - nothing more. There are some reporters or "journalists" whatever term you like, facing criminal charges right now over the disclosure of the source who fingered a certain CIA employee recently. Any government piece of paper that carries a classification in the catagory of "top secret" that is "leaked" or stolen falls into the same matter of criminal liability.

The idea that someone has risked such a criminal liability to leak this stuff just doesn't add up. And I am not holding my breath waiting for a named government official to come forward and certify that "it is all true" for the same reasons.

LAK,

I don't know how familiar you are with the workings in Washington, but it is a regular occurance for folks to leak information of ths type. Any reporter worth a damn has inside, anonymous sources that give up background details of this type on a regular basis. Watergate? Pentagon Papers?

But I digress...please re-read my post for the point I was making. The fact that it was leaked does not lessen it's accuracy. The fact that it is unattributable is not unusual. The fact that you would use it if it supported your side's arguement is obvious.

Amazing, isn't it? Are we in the same universe? We're talking about psychotic terrorists meeting with psychotic dictators, both of whom would love to see America turned into one large glassy crater, and he's talking about "courtesy visits".

Leaking information is a frequent propaganda tool. It can be true, it can be false - neither of which matters if it serves it's purpose.

It is only relevent if the article is accurate in this regard; but if it is a classified top secret document that is another matter. It means nothing unconfirmed, and to confirm it means that someone committed a serious crime.

Reporters do solicit "inside" information. But, as in the case of the fingered CIA employee, if the passing of such information is a crime they can not play dumb. It is somewhat akin to be caught with stolen property; if you are to say that you didn't steal it - you must come up with how it came into your possession and specifically from who. This particular case is pending at this time.

"Both of whom would love to see America turned into one large glassy crater"? What for? "Psychotic terrorists, dictators and nukes" are really taking on mythical proportions.

They could have brought this country to at least a temporary chaos and standstill - probably a total economic collapse. Yet they (whoever "they" are) did not do it.

If this was what the fever suggests, any ligitimate government would have shut down the borders and ports, done a sweep of the whole nation and worked from there. Not sat around for three and a half years - except to invade two countries part way around the world.

Controlled conflict for controlled change.
