Sac Valley Shooting Center Bans CA DOJ from range.

Am I the only one who grins and makes various fist pump / pelvic thrust / woo-WOO gestures in my chair after reading about the brady bunch getting upset to the point of moaning and crying?

no sir, you are not.

i may have to become a member of the Folsom Shooting Club in absentia. anybody know how to contact these guys and tell them they kick ass?

In 2003, there were nearly 1,600 handgun homicides in California. In a typical year in California, no arrest is made in almost half of the state's homicides because police lack enough evidence to find the murderer.

Compare that to shall-issue states. I bet handguns aren't really the problem. But why confuse the issue with logic and truth.

I sure don't know of any ranges operated by the Brady Bunch nor the Million Mean Mommies that are used to train LE. Let them buy the land and set up range facilities if they are so concerned about it. Not only are shooters obligated to support gun control, they now what us obligated to support the people who promote gun control. Thank you, NO!

"siding with criminals"

I always so enjoy being equated with a criminal.

I'm glad this PRIVATE range stood up for their rights.

Yup 1600 deaths per year and some of the most restrictive gun laws. Yet here in Texas they are quite a bit lower, and even lower yet in states like Virginia. It is the Bradys who need their heads checked.

To answer Mr. Brady: yes, if police support gun control, they should be disarmed, both on the job and at home. :)

Further, if politicians, activists, or media members support gun control, they should not be allowed bodyguards or to own firearms themselves.

Wow. That was such a one sided, slanted article it made my eyes hurt. Also, they stated figures in a misleading way.

I support Folsom in what they are doing. If the only thing it does is get people talking then it's done great things. If it actually helps further their cause by striking down that legislation, then AMAZING!

If local ranges around here (boston ma) were to restrict LEOs from qualifying on their ranges until the cheifs eased up on the granting of LTCs I'm sure there would be a huge deal made about it.

Here's to Folsom.

Tom-
I know you're inundated with mail today but I think I have something to offer you.

My name is Rich Lucibella and I'm the publisher of S.W.A.T. Magazine and owner of http://www.TheFiringLine.com

Congratulations to you and the Board for standing up to the absurd position taken by the CA DOJ. I know that this was a difficult decision and, while we cannot assist with the public pressure, we believe we can assist with the revenue loss.

If you would email me a PDF or scan of your Membership Application, I'd be proud to pay the fee to "join" the SVSC, even though I reside in Florida. I believe there are a number of like minded people on our web site who would similarly pitch in to help. However, I require an application blank for that purpose.

Best regards-
Keep up the Good Fight!

You Go, Rich. Good man. I bet that'll make his day to read your letter and will surely reinforce his convictions. Thank you.

It doesn't hit anyone in the pocketbook, and it doesn't teach anyone a lesson. I'd expect the sociofascists to build their own (private) range at the expense of CA taxpayers.

EXACTLY. I'm a government contractor by profession. Government agents will simply appropriate the funds on "necessary" property acquisition, and then proceed to publish an RFP or RFQ.

As a gov't contractor it behooves me to provide local and Federal agencies with the best price on the things they buy. But that does not mean I have any say over WHAT they buy.

However, I do support the range's decision to ban DOJ agents acting on official business. They'll probably go down during the fight, but I'd personally do what I can to help.

Hause's Response to my Email

I wanted to send a brief note of thanks to all that have sent email to me, or the Folsom Shooting Club, Inc. (FSC), about the letter to the Attorney General (AG) of California. Your kind words are encouraging.

I also want to acknowledge our member, Steve Helsley for writing a draft of the AG letter. Steve's letter was adopted by the Board with very little editing.

Many of you have asked about donations to our club, and about some sort of limited membership. I have asked the Board to consider creating a limited membership at the next meeting. A copy of this email is also being sent to the FSC Board and to Steve Helsley who proposed that the letter be sent.

Thanks again,
Tom Hause

Looks like we're not the only group willing to step up on this. Well done, people.
Rich

I spoke with the range manager at SVSC today after my High Power match. She has been inundated with emails of support from all over the country and wants everyone to know how much they appreciate it.
