S&W Model 39 9 mm

My 639 is one of only four handguns I have bought NIB. Mine has a VERY smooth trigger pull and I honestly think the DA pull is lighter than the SA.

model 39-2

i bought mine in 1987, I don't shoot it as much as i used to but it's still one of my favorites.

I know, many don't like the Pachmayer's, oh well... I do.

FWIW one not-so-obvious benefit of Pachmayrs is that they prevent the serrations on the M39 frontstrap from gradually shredding one's waistband if the pistol is worn in an IWB holster. :)

Duct tape will accomplish the same thing, but it looks really tacky, no pun intended. ;)

I actually like the Pachmayr on my 39-2, as my formative years were in the mid-to-late 1980s when half the handguns in this country wore Pachmayr rubber on them! ;) I do wish, however, that the Model 39 Pachmayr had less of a palm-swell to them, or none at all. Best I can tell, Pachmayr only EVER made two options for the Model 39 -- the one you see in the picture above (which has a palm-swell) and another grip that feels exactly the same but has the Pachmayr medallions rather than the featured "swoosh" as shown above.

I have a set of 645 Pachmayr rubber grip panels on my S&W 745 and they look and feel fantastic -- and have NO palm swell.

Love my 639. Got it and a pre 10 for $400, so that's about $200 each. Sold the 10, got my local gunsmith to fix the damaged sights and polish up the action and added a set of Pachmeyer grips (they fit my hand) so I've got less than $375 invested in what is my favorite 9mm. Carry it often. Great shooter at the range too.

I have never seen one. they sure are pretty. I will definitely look into them after Christmas if they aren't too rare. what model is that chief's special up there?
