S&W Just Announced An Agreement With the WH

have already posted a reply elsewhere, but those of you who think this is just a harmless tactic on S & W's part haven't read the agreement (www.hud.gov/pressrel/gunagree.html)
for instance:
S & W agrees to make no gun models which will accept a preban mag!?
s & W agrees not to sell to dealers who allow buyers to carry more than one purchased handgun out of store on purchase date?!
required safety training of staff and buyers!?
Required training of staff by ATF?!
unlimited time frame for a Brady check!?
stop making guns which are "attractive " to criminals?! (who polls crooks on their favorite designs before releasing a new model?!)
No gun show sales unless ALL sales (insert : civilian sales) there go through background check?!
c'mon guys...S & W just stabbed us all in the back...their ceo just put all the pressure on the other makers to conform to similar agreements
And conveniently, gov't weapons are EXEMPT from the above restrictions..
I predict the Ruger and Glock will be the next to fall in line, since their CEO's are essentially anti-civilian gun ownership types who think they can survive on gov't sales. S & W even said that they could've lived just on gov't sales...civilians are only an after-thought to these companies!

Guns safe for a 6 yr old, huh? Is anyone aware of the fact that SINCE the use of so-called child-proof aspirin bottles, there have been more children accidentally poisoned, after complacent parents left the bottles lying about, thinking they were now safe?

I can see it now: MORE accidental shootings of children, when people leave the new "safe guns" around loaded, and accidentally forget to use the built in-lock.

There is no substitute for common sense, (personal) responsibility, and education. We'd rather skip those, and go straight to BLAME. :( :(

America is in a very dangerous place.

NO civialian purchases of S&W products ever again

better to cut off the offending hand then loose our arms!

SHUN SMITH & WESSON!!!!!!

ED SCHULTZ made a choice
lets prove it the wrong choice for the rest of the manufacturers!

There's allot wrong with this deal. First, the buyer must show he has taken a handgun training class or safety class. Guns must be child proof, must have dumb..I mean smart gun technology within 3 years and such. What a crock of sh-t. The Limeys at Smith sold us out. As a matter of fact, a Smith rep was at a local gunshop today during a Smith promo and told me that Smith is getting into the M-16 business, and just barely lost out on a bid to make M-16's for the gov't. Maybe if they sell us out, next time they'll get it.

Read the original post for the text of the surrender...

Ed Shultz is a traitor to the Bill of Rights and to the American Gun Owner.

I will never buy any product manufactured by Smith and Wesson. I'm even considering refusing to buy from any gun shop that sells S&W products.

I hope you join in this boycott.

I also hope you join in contacting your representatives in demanding the magazine ban be repealed immediately.

I really can't get angry at Smith & Wesson for doing what is necessary to survive. I can, however, get pretty ticked off about the sw99 they sold me which is a piece of s**t. Had to send it back to them twice and the weapon is only 3 months old. Shoulda bought a SIG.

Nice going gang--

S&W is trying to stay in business so they can sell us MORE guns, rather than not any. It seems to me that in todays climate they made a good decision. They would be a whole lot better off making computor parts or something other than guns in their factory, but no,they still want to be around to make guns,to sell to civilians, and now we want to tell them to go to hell. Whatever.

As for gun shows and private dealers? How come you can get a hundred or so bucks more for the same gun that I am selling? Aint real hard to figure out, is it?

Evidently thats what that clown in Illinois did before he decided to shoot a couple people. Couldnt pass a backround check,so went to a show to buy from a "collector"---nice.

Anyway,go ahead and give me all the hell you want, but what I say is the truth. It is not to offend. But I will tell you what,we better figure out a way, quick,to become part of the solution rather than the problem.

Smith and Wesson is a champion and (excuse the term) liberal supporter of the civilian gun owner. Wait to see what the other manufacturers do--probably something similar.

We know that S&W has been selling trigger locks with their guns for years, Ruger locking boxes and Taurus the integral lock. We know fools and criminals can/will circumvent these and any other items.

One of my Smiths already has two serial numbers.

This is the message I sent to the President:

I am a social nigger and will now be voting Republican.

Your agreement with Smith and Wesson once again shows the Democratic desire to reassure individuals that they need not take responsibility for their actions; that the government will provide someone else to blame.

The agreement also takes credit for something Smith and Wesson has been doing for years, leaving the impression that the opposite is true and casting doubt on Smith and Wesson's commitment to the public.

All the parts of the agreement will not overcome the problem of lack of personal responsibility. Rather than holding criminals and irresponsible people to their actions you are putting burdens that criminals will never feel on honest, responsible gun owners as scapegoats and treating us as social niggers.

S&W can no longer:
market guns in any manner designed to appeal to juveniles or criminals.

That would be a gun that shoots a bullet

Ban Sgt. Benedict Schultz!!!!

Whoever keeps saying this agreement isn't saying anything obviously isn't taking the time to read it.
No more gun show sales.
No more guns which accept hi cap mags.
No more pre-ban rifle sales.
And on and on and on....

This isn't going to just affect S&W. They have now put enormous pressure on Glock and all of the others to change. The entire industry has just changed forever.

The L.A. Times said S&W agreed to grips too big and triggers too heavy for children. If this is true, the new revolvers should shoot like a brick.

As I said before, a lot of you folks should be over at the Legal/Political forum. You're mad at the wrong party.

Klinton's going to force the same raw deal on every other manufacturer. His tactics aren't much different from the gangsters running extortion rackets in the 30's. The next step in the "safe" gun ploy will be for Gore (if we allow him to be elected) to wait for a tragedy involving a pre-ban gun. Then he'll push to have _all_ guns returned to the manufacturer to be retrofitted with the "safe" gun technology.

Clinton had over 90 federal attorneys working, at our expense, to defend him during the impeachment hearings. How many federal attorneys do you think he threatened S&W with? 500? More? And he accomplished all this without a vote in Congress.

Get involved. Get involved now.

Dick

I agree; get involved now. Just finished sending email to my federal senators and representative expressing my concern over the coercive, intimidating, and threatening tactics from the government 'of the people, by the people, and for the people' toward a legally chartered company producing a lawful product. And, have also been posting to several firearm manufacturers other than S&W to encourage them to resist tactics that compromise 2nd amendment rights of their customers.

The Pres. and her husband and the rest of their Gang have done it again. They victimized, and slash and burn (remember Waco) whomever they want and get away with it. It's really too bad for Smith & Wesson. It just make me sick.

Whatever happened to doing the honorable thing? What if S&W decided to fall on their perverbial sword and "go belly up"??

We who are the NRA would run to the aid of a fallen comrade. Pick up the flag and carry on. Listen folks, the only reason these retards are winning is because we are not organized and not sending a concisce message. #1, we need an articulate dude/duddette to step forward and carry the torch to RKBA. Somebody like a Limbaugh or a Keyes. #2, we need to get everybody who owns a gun, wants to own a gun, hell, anybody who's got a Daisy BB rifle to join the NRA!!! And there ain't nothing wrong with LaPierre, his message is good, it just comes out wrong. Not his fault, he ain't gifted.

This is a war of ignorance, and that is our enemy. The anti-gunners pride on people being ignorant and staying that way. Its high time we educate the populace on RKBA.

Maybe we could enlist the likes of Jesse the Mind Ventura on this one???

Fight hard but fight smart!!!
