People buy lasers to avoid learning to shoot. This use is irresponsible and dangerous.

That use certainly would be irresponsible. How many people actually do that? How many of them are just a subset of people who fail to seek training or education in general? Thinking that you can substitute any gimmick for real practice may be indicative of a deeper personal problem.

She decided she did not need the laser
We talked about probable distance that
She would need for SD & the laser only
made sense if it would deter a BG.
IMHO a laser would deter maybe 25-30%
Of SD situations. So, no laser. Just a very
finely made Ruger LCR 38 spec P+ with
Either a 90 or 110 grain Hornady 38
Spec P + CD ammo for better control.
Thanks all.

Comments on the Laser

I had the BG-38, and it was my first gun with a laser.

I traded the gun for a 637 (aluminum frame SA/DA). After shooting the 637, I missed the laser and bought CT grips for it. MUCH better. It comes on when I grab the gun.

I now also have CT laser grip on my aluminum frame Officers model 45.

The laser is GREAT for dry fire training on a revolver.

For those that shun the laser:

What is wrong with another complete independent sight system that works in the dark?
