S&W 686

There is no way in Hell I would give my 686 up for a LCR. Thats just crazy talk. IMO, getting other guns is just going to make you appreciate your 686 even more. Of all my guns, the 686 would absolutely be the last one to go, from my dead hands, if all goes well (or bad). There are plenty of nice guns out there, but the 686 is a 357 masterpiece. There is no gun on earth that scratches my itch more than my 686. Carryable, very shootable, and able to take down a freight train with the right amo. Never mind zombies, they have no chance against 357. You will regret that trade, for sure my friend.

Never give up a 686 for any other gun. If you like to carry a revolver over a auto, look around for a used S&W in a smaller frame. I have a S&W 66-4 that is easy to carry. :)

Thanks, probably just what I needed to hear honestly. My 686 is the 4"
pre-lock, and I researched it for MONTHS AND MONTHS before buying. At first I used to, and still do, just check it out, play with it, hold it in my hand, open and close the cylinder. It just feels "right", I love shooting it, I trust it, and it's easily my favorite gun. Again, the revolvers to me are what it's all about. I like semis, too, and can handle them well, just something about a revolver, and my 686 is just such a great one to own.

I will wait and save up for a separate purchase. Got my LC9 this past January at a gun show for like $320 or something out the door, just a great deal!! I had in my hand and was all ready to buy the LCR .357 first and last second decided the small .9 would be my better choice at that moment. I love the LC9, great gun, I shoot very well with it, easy to conceal. Still want a carry revolver, though. I will get that LCR soon enough.

Never sell or trade a gun you like. If you have any doubt then that is a huge clue as to why you should not.

If it were something you did not like, did not shoot, and had no attachment to then I would be at the front of the line saying that you should get rid of it for something you do like.

You have two other guns for carry until you can save up enough for the LCR.

Good choice keeping the 686. It's only the best production .357 on the market. Yours is pre-lock so it's that much better.

Before you throw your money down on the LCR, make sure you check out the Airweight series from S&W first.

the first gun i ever bought with my own money( not the first gun i ever shot by any means) was a s&w 686. I would NEVER part with her, never!! Ya know how you cant 'take it with you' when you die and go to heaven? When i reach the pearly gates I will beg saint peter to let me take 'er with me!! DONT sell yours. You will SO regret it.

I second the suggestion for an airweight to go with your 686. I picked up a 37 (aluminum frame j frame, traded in a lcp for it, and it shoots great and is very concealable. Much smaller then the lcr.
