Although I have a beautiful 686, I much prefer my Kimber Stainless Pro Carry as my EDC. It is light compared to the 686 and I load my Kimber with either a 8 round Wilson Combat mag or a Kim Pro Tac 8 round mag. It's always condition one so I have 25 available rounds with a dual mag carrier.
My Kimber lives in a Galco holster which keeps it tight and nicely concealed against my body is a OWB type.
My 686 also lives in a Galco holster which is concealable OWB. But, over the last 20 years or so I have been carrying the same Kimber in the same holster. I am happy with its performance and it gets carried nearly everyday, with little exception and gets its weekly workout at the range. I prefer to wear mine in the 2 o'clock position with the mags at the 8 o'clock position.
I might mention that I have tried many, many guns and holster combinations and have found this has worked best for me so I continued my training based on this combination.
