S & W 386 Mountain Lite

This thread kinda got a little off to the left.....IMO.

I believe the general point made by most is that S&W quality has gone down or is not near as consistant as it used to be, at best.
I saw a brand new 360 Sc 357 mag lock the cylinder at a range a couple of months ago...It was the guns first shoot! The owner threw it down range.....I cant say that I blaim him. The cylinder had twisted and was cutting into the frame...not good.

The point that past gun companies having "questionable quality and history" are getting much much better...Taurus, Rossi etc.
The general quality of a Taurus gun I believe has surpassed that of S&W in consistancy...I try new guns all of the time and Taurus triggers are getting pretty damn good. S&W guns are still good, but not near the "no matter what you get, it will be good" gun that it used to be.......end of story.

Shoot well

I am not posting this to debate over, or slam Taurus or Rossi. I have a friend that had a Taurus-605 that the cylinder frame cracked on him while at the range, the only difference was he was able to control his emotions. The thing with all mechanical tools is sometimes you get a bad apple. I have owned three Ruger's and thought they were all great guns. I now own S&W's model-686+, model-386PD and model-360Sc. I have put 400 .357MAG rounds and 1400 .38Special +p thrugh my model-360Sc and have not even one problem with the gun it self! I think S&W still makes a great revolver! ...end of story. ;)
