RWS ammo?

I've shot some of their 9mm and I like it. Seems warmer than the WWB stuff. I wouldn't hesitate to buy more.

Hotter ?? I don't think a hotter load will help you for bowling pins .After all it's just a bowling pin . Accuracy is still most important ,then comes bullet shape . A bullet with a large meplat ,a sharp shoulder ,a large hollow point ,are the things to look for.

I can't say much about their pistol ammo, but when I was heavy into ISU Small bore I used a lot of RWS 22 match ammo. It shot dern good in my Anschutz 1807. It did vary lot to lot (Not as bad as Elly).

That was with an Anschutz target rifle, I doubt many could see the variance per lot in a pistol

I work at a gun store and we got some in at a good price in 9mm, so I picked up some. I took them to an indoor range we have in town and began to shoot it. It shot great, but I was surprised when one of the range guys came in and asked me not to shoot any more in the range.

It turns out that it has a steel core under the copper jacket. He took a round with him to check it with a magnet and brought it back for me to see. Sure enough, it adhered to the magnet. The range guys said they were afraid of unfired gunpowder in the range and were afraid the sparking could ignite the powder.

They were very nice about it and I saved it for outdoor shooting. Otherwise, it shot really well.

spend less money on some better quality american stuff like federal champion for $14/box. it'll knock the pins over just as well.

FTFS here

Bought two boxes of 9mm, 50 rnds ea. @ Wally World. Out of these two, I had 10 light primer strikes with one delayed fire. The latter scared the heck out of me.

No probs on the gun before or after. Stuff burned pretty dirty too. Not a deal to me.

I love it in 9mm and 45 ACP.... Weapons World is a great source for it. I love their $9.99 shipping.

it can't have a steel core, that would make it armor piercing handgun ammo, which is illegal. It may have steel mixed in with the copper jacket ie. a bi-metal jacket. I'll bet a month's salary that it has a lead core with a bi-metal jacket. And did the range employee explain how unburned powder made it all the way down to the backstop in sufficient amounts as to cause an explosion when/if sparks flew?

bi-metal jacket

The 9mm has a bi-metal jacket. It is the only round in the line which does. 45 ACP & 380 auto are not bi-metal.

RWS 124 Gr is $219.98 delivered to my door. Beats Champion at $14 + tax everyday.

I have shot other calibers of RWS ammo and liked it. I just got through ordering a case of RWS .45 ammo recently. If it is anything like the other calibers I should be quite happy. Weapons World does have some good prices on this ammo and $10 flat rate shipping is great too.

MagnumPI its obvious you have never cleaned an indoor range! Powder & lead go everywhere! We do not allow any steel core/jacketed ammo at our range either. Fire hazzard is very real, especially with a shredded rubber backstop.

Magnum PI,

It's their range. If they say I can't shoot it, then I can't shoot it. They say what they allow, and I'm not going to argue with them about it. It's not mine to say what I can and can't do with it. Sheesh!

RWS ammo is as good if not better as any mass produced ammo available,

"The brand stems from the Rheinisch-Westfälischen Sprengstoff-Fabriken, which passed into the ownership of Dynamit Nobel in 1931 and then under the control of RUAG Ammotec. RWS cartridges have a long history of experience in the development and production, therefore it is not surprising, that their market launch has had an unparalleled success all over the world. Every hunter appreciates deeply the RWS brand and many Olympic victories in target shooting would not have been won without it."

I have been using it for years and have found it to be 100% good to go.

"...find the hottest..." You don't need hot ammo for pins. You need the most accurate in your pistol ammo. Any good hit will take the pin off the table. You don't need jacketed bullets either. Used a .45 with regular 230 grain cast with 4.5 grains of Bullseye, long ago. That's a target load. Pins flew with no fuss.
"...can't have a steel core..." That doesn't mean it's AP.
