Rusty but Trusty - My Ruger 22 Aint got no Blue!

I picked up an old "rusty but trusty" a couple months ago..a Colt Woodsman. Very well worn, especially the frame. Virtually no blue, and most of the markings are very faint. Not sure why, probably a replacement, but the barrel is about 90% +. But no matter what the frame looks like, it is 100% reliable, and accurate beyong my capability.
One interesting, but unsubstantiated story is that it was supposed to have been some doctor's every day carry gun many years ago.

My very "first" Ruger pistol. Bought in 1970, RST 4 at the "Trading Post" in Racine, WI. I had to have my Dad do the paperwork as I was too young.

Here's my 1982 MKII target; it's been a great pistol through the years. It was bought new at the long gone Continental gun shop in Miami in 1982. It's a keeper.

This is my Dad's Standard (predates the Mark I). He bought it in 1965 for protection during the Watts Riots. It is about like new as he never shot it.
Has it ever been fired?
If not, then if it passed into your hands, would you fire it?
