Rush comes clean

"If you're just getting this now...well, I don't even know what to tell ya."

That's okay, I don't need any advice. ;)

I'm a life-long dissenter. When I was little I was afraid Joe McCarthy was going to get me. Some kids were threatened with the boogie man or the closet monster, I got McCarthy nightmares.

Bud Helms said:
I actually did not realize he had been convicted.

His attorneys negotiated some kind of plea bargain that earned him probation... which he promptly violated by possessing a prescription medication (Viagra) that wasn't in his name. That second bit was labeled as "an honest mistake", for which he wasn't charged.

I've tried listening to Rush on many occasions... my main problem with his show is that he lies too much. I mean, he'll start off with a kernel of truth, but by the time he's spun it, then spun the spin four or five times, he's nowhere near anything factual.

MY favorite Rush quote: "You don't have to listen to the news, or read the newspapers. In fact, you don't even have to know what to think... just listen to me, and I'll tell you what to think..."

I grew tired of Limbaugh and Hannity during the past two years, constantly repeating phrases, but I thought there was something different about Savage. It seemed he spoke to conservatism, and was very critical of the Republicans for the position they were taking on Immigration, Trade, etc.... So is he just an act also? Was I drinking the kool-aid?

In Michigan it is possible to split your vote and actually vote for Pro-Gun Democrats...John Dingell, Kathy Angerer and several more. I felt having pro gun legislators on the inside of the Democratic Party may serve to moderate some of the far left. Governor Granholm (D) actually signed the "Castle Doctrine" bill that went in effect in October and we recently dropped the firearms hunting age from 14 to twelve to encourage earlier participation hoping to gain more lifelong hunters.

Last week I shot in a military rifle match (Garand) and the guy next to me was a staunch Democrat. Yesterday my good friend (Democrat) came over and we sighted in his new Shotgun or the opening of Deer season and he firmly believes that his party is not going to go after our guns.

I read that several of the Dem candidates this fall were openly pro-gun in other states, could it be that we are being heard above the voices of Shumer, Bloomberg, Kennedy or did I just help myself to another glass of kool-aid.

I am very conservative, but am beginning to wonder if things are not as bad as are being predicted based on the election results.

Well, they do both repeat themselves a lot. They "preach to the choir".

The repetition gets to me because it strikes me as a lack of originality. Now, most of Rush's lambast is a put on. I know that and anyone that listens to him should realize that. However, he reminds me so much of Cassius Clay's same timbre of lambast that I just can't listen to him anymore. Another thing ... Cassius Clay, AKA: Muhamed Ali, could back his lambast up with a performance that would leave you unconscious ... literally. :) Rush is all puff and I do not enjoy listening to him any more. And when Attila the Hun doesn't want to listen to the airwaves' champion of the right, something is wrong. Just my humble opinion.

Programs like Hannity and Rush give affirmation to those that already agree with their position. Those that constantly seek affirmation are on weak ground. ... another IMHO. I have found myself agreeing with many of Rush Limbaugh's assertions, but his reasoning is overly tortuous and seems unnecessarily fabricated. He will work at proving something that is obvious on observation.

And then there is the "me, me, me" ... tiresome. I'd much rather listen to Neal Boortz. ;)

All:

Q: What is the difference between Rush Limbaugh and the Hindenburg?

A: One is a fat Nazi gasbag, the other is a German derigible.

Ha ha,

I occasionally listen to Rush, but....

..his antics have tarnished his pedastal that others place him on...I refuse to have any heros as it only serves to eventually finding out something that will disillusion me...I admire people but never put them on platforms...human beings are much too fallable...

I'm kind of surprised that GW took the last election, at least from what I was told on the street. Same old song and dance which got the Democrats in trouble for so long. "Better vote for dubya or they'll take yer guns away!" That is not and should not be an election strategy.

This neo-con garbage needs to take a well earned trip to the curb. We haven't had a real conservative majority in this country. The closest it ever came was when Barry Goldwater was running against LBJ.

The Republican party lost because they had no direction and the people saw it for what it was. Unfortunately, a couple of pretty good Republicans took the backblast due to mismanagement at the top.

The term "liberal" used to mean somebody like JFK or Humphrey-not the gun grabbers we put up with today. I've never voted for a democrat in my life-the party affilliation does not bother me one way or the other. It was the candidates running.

The way politics looks right now, I'll vote for the other party for president in the next election just to provide a stopper. Watching either party get control of both houses and the executive is a dangerous thing, regardless of which party it is.

I don't think I've ever seen the country in a more favorable position to get a third party candidate in office. The leadership of the democratic party will take its turn in the bucket for the next couple of years, and I have no reason to believe that there will be anything meaningful to the 08 elections except for mudslinging. No matter what the issues are, both major parties are in a popularity contest, and seem to have very little interest in the people.

Michael Savage and the other talk bozos.

Michael Savage - Ignorant, lying, racist, egomaniacal, moronic phony.

Lets face it, he was an herbalist, doing things like recommending coffee enemas to cure cocaine addiction before he adopted his new "conservative" persona.

He's constantly ranting about the "gay mafia", but a quick investigation into his past reveals some "not so straight" expolits in Fiji.

Radio talk shows tend to be great places for people who are either too lazy or not smart enough to develop their own opinions.

Savage... ugh. Don't think I've ever heard a more stuck-up jerk. He's a parody of talk radio all by his lonesome.

Then again, if I lived in San Francisco I'd prolly go mad to. :p

Savage is almost as bad as that Glenn Beck tool on CNN. Between him and Nancy Grace, it's a wonder there's any stupid left in the world for the rest of the population.

Hey - without Nancy, how would we know about which attractive young lady has disappeared?

Not to be insensitive to real family tragedies and loss of a loved child but Nancy is an exploitive b-word. Along with Greta.

I'd like to see a summary of the news on CNN Headline - not the looney or raving butt of the week.

This is a quote from Hubert Humphrey:

"The right of citizens to bear arms is just one guarantee against arbitrary government, one more safeguard against the tyranny which now appears remote in America, but which historically has proved to be always possible." -- Senator Hubert H. Humphrey (D-Minnesota)"

Thus, such thoughts should be encourage in Democrats and 'liberals while signing the AWB should be discouraged in folks like GWB (I know it was a great political move to lie about supporting it, just like not firing Rummy for political expediency - yada, yada)

Well, I'd suggest bar hopping with the writers more than listening to what is essentially a politicized Loud and Angery Larry the Cable Guy show.
