Rumsfeld stepping down!

Watching his press conference Mr. Bush actually admitted he lied to a journalist when asked about Donald last week. He must make his Grade Six teacher cringe.

Take Care

Pucker,
I ain't even going there. :D
The problem isn't that All Islam is going on the warpath (as postulated in that work of fiction). The problem is that we have effectively handed the Iranians a stranglehold on Europe's oil supply, unified the Shi'ites, and simultaneously undermined our own standing in the world community.
They have nukes and a religious hatred for everything western. What's worse, we have attacked them and failed to deliver a knockout blow. Now we're really in trouble.

Defeating this threat is going to take unity towards our cause, an iron will, and very shrewd policy.
Saddam was sentenced to death 2 days ago. I think many of you will come to appreciate how hollow that victory is in the general scheme of things.

denfoote,
Gotcha. Sorry for the confusion.

You do realize that many from across the political spectrum have been calling for his resignation for years now, right? He's not just unpopular, but arguably responsible for killing thousands of our servicemen and women.
I'm sure you don't see it now, but IMO if all he gets is retirement...he got off lucky.

I'm going to start talking about rebuilding tomorrow. Some of us are still in shock and not ready to handle the message. I will explain how this is actually good news not just for the Republican party but America in the long term.

Denfoote, so by wanting rumsfelds head on a plate, that makes one a socialist wolf?

Hmm...socialist wolves. Sure sounds like a better mascot than an Ass.

And if GW was willing to lie about this...what else?

"But we couldn't handle the truth!"

I think this is long overdue. Rumsfeld has terribly mismanaged the war. Bush should have tossed him overboard long ago.

This is great for two reasons. The most obvious being Rumsfeld is out, and a pragmatic, professional person with a grasp of the complexities of the Iraq war is in. More importantly though, I think this shows that James Baker and the Iraq Study Group have gained more influence with Bush. Could it be that the President maybe has some competent advisor's around him finally? We can only hope.
