Ruger Vaquero, w/ Birdshead grip.

I got a new stainless .357 Vaquero about 4 weeks ago.
I've had it to the range for 3 short trips so far.
Mine seems to like 158 gr. .38s a lot, but I haven't found any loads that are not to point of aim.

My groups are nothing to brag about, but this is my first single action, so I am giving myself some time to adjust.

My first range test, as I was leaving, I did this:
1. Stood two (50rd) ammo boxes on end, in front of the backstop.
2. From 25 yds, I got down on one knee, for a braced shot.
3. Two shots, two ammo boxes bit the dust. :D

My father-in-law was watching, and now he actually thinks I'm a good shot! LOL!

I had read about QC problems, so I was worried.
My gun has two small scratches on the muzzle, but that is it.
Otherwise, she is a beauty.
This is my fourth Ruger handgun.
I consider Rugers to be the best value in handguns on the market.
And there is something about a Vaquero....maybe functional artwork, poetry in steel?
Oh, my vocabulary fails me! :(

I have the Sheriff's Model Vaquero .357Mag very short barrel, ejector rod housing is almost flush with end of barrel. It is the most 'fun gun' that I have to shoot.

i got a bisley vaquero SS 45 long colt with 4 5/8" barrel.-i always heard these have bad triggers, but mine is very crisp and light.
most of my experience is with ruger DA revolvers, and i can tell you they make a great revolver whos hallmark is reliability and ergonomics.
though i like the freedom arms revolvers,i like the practicality of the ruger transfer bar,and relative strength.no one in their right mind would scoff at freedom arms, but there are sacrafices other than financial.
i think the combination of bisley grip, hammer, reliability, and practical strength make the bisley vaquero a no brainer value.it's hard to get over it,and i've had the gun for 2 years.39 ounces to boot.a most efficient and beautiful firearm.
completed the package with lett custom grips and a left-hand carry dennis a yoder sportsman holster;a tom threepersons inspired design.-;)
