ruger trigger job

Post 20 covers it.
Massad Ayoob wrote a few gun press items about the topic too.
In the early 1980s, a Miami FL cop shot a teen playing a video game.
They used to be huge consoles in arcades, btw.
Anyway, the cop had a "modified" S&W .38spl revolver which was given a lighter trigger action.
The city had a lot of civil unrest related to the shooting & it changed many PD policy issues re; firearms & custom features.

<Sigh> I like guns tuned to the way I shoot, not how lawyers look at it. All this 'lawyer' speak is, well, crazy. I think we as a nation 'worry' to much  . A knife, a gun, a club, ...

The SA trigger pull can be got by simply doing the PBTJ. Cuts the trigger pull in half. See how you like it. You can also bend the spring legs to your liking if you want to use both legs of the trigger spring. And/Or get a wolff trigger spring.

Your right.... . Not sure where I got the SA and DA .... No help from me on Ruger DAs... Sold the only one I ever had.... I guess when I read Ruger Trigger Job I automatically think SAs :o . Hah!

I find it interesting that a "trigger job" on just about any firearm is a gunsmithing job, whether paid pro or knowledgeable DIY. Replace parts, fit parts, tweak parts, polish parts, etc. Work on it.

Not Ruger. A trigger job on a Ruger nearly always boils down to "put in weaker springs." And maybe "dryfire a lot."

There are a lot of shops working on Smiths and even a few still on Colts, but a Ruger gunsmith is hard to find.

The highly touted Gemini guns are cataloged with "DA @ 9, 10, or 11 lbs."
I don't know why anybody would pick an 11 lb DA when he could have a 9 lb DA, but considering that I have a S&W with 8.5 lb DA on gunsmith refined factory parts, I still don't consider that a great accomplishment.

Then there was the gunboard post boasting of a Ruger with a 4.5 lb DIY DA.
Right.

I once saw a Security Six PPC gun with very nice DA. Not as good as the very best S&W or Colt, but not bad at all. Unfortunately the next one I saw out of the same big name shop was pretty coarse. My FLG explained why, but I won't try to translate.

I take it by your name, your in Texas.
You could send it to Briley, in the Houston area. They are located in Springbranch, just off the I-10 Freeway
They charge $150.00 for a trigger job on a revolver, and I have used them in the past, and they do excellent work.
