I find it interesting that a "trigger job" on just about any firearm is a gunsmithing job, whether paid pro or knowledgeable DIY. Replace parts, fit parts, tweak parts, polish parts, etc. Work on it.
Not Ruger. A trigger job on a Ruger nearly always boils down to "put in weaker springs." And maybe "dryfire a lot."
There are a lot of shops working on Smiths and even a few still on Colts, but a Ruger gunsmith is hard to find.
The highly touted Gemini guns are cataloged with "DA @ 9, 10, or 11 lbs."
I don't know why anybody would pick an 11 lb DA when he could have a 9 lb DA, but considering that I have a S&W with 8.5 lb DA on gunsmith refined factory parts, I still don't consider that a great accomplishment.
Then there was the gunboard post boasting of a Ruger with a 4.5 lb DIY DA.
Right.
I once saw a Security Six PPC gun with very nice DA. Not as good as the very best S&W or Colt, but not bad at all. Unfortunately the next one I saw out of the same big name shop was pretty coarse. My FLG explained why, but I won't try to translate.
