Ruger Sr1911 Lightweight CMD Questions

It's got the titanium insert, so forget the comments about HP's damaging the ramp.

It's a 1911 Ruger and in my two examples, it doesn't need boutique magazines...standard GI ones work just as well. I recently bought CMP's GI issue mags and found all of them work in all of my 1911's: that's an even half dozen Colt, Rugers, Remington-Rand WWll's, and a Sig. They did as well in my son's Colts. Any 1911 that won't feed from a standard magazine has issues with it's component parts.

Alloy framed 'Commander' sized 1911's have been around since the '50's and have stood the test of time for any realistic use. Longevity extends to many thousands of rounds. If you aren't competing in one of the shooting games where thousands of rounds are expended each year, I'd say you were well heeled with a Ruger Lt Wt.

And if you ever need service, Ruger has one of the very best customer service dept's. in the industry. They'll make it right for you. You've got the best of all worlds: a great gun, from a great company. Go out and enjoy it!

JMHO, YMMV, Rod

So, first trip to the range with my new CMDR Lightweight, 100 rounds of 230 ball, then 40 Liberty, and 50 ARX Inceptors. This 1911 is perfectly balanced, and is going to be my main EDC. I was surprised to see that my new gun arrived totally 'dry', so I'm glad that my normal regime of a good inspection and lube prior to firing proved to be prudent. I really recommend this 1911 to those looking for an affordable, good quality pistol for EDC.
