Ruger sp101

but finding a holster for the 3" will be more difficult.

I said this for a reason.
You righties have no idea!!!! The world through the eyes of a righty . Life is so bad, how can we deal with this dilema :(?.... being a South Paw Christian man, I'm not going to tell you righties where to put your 3". Do you need a holster for your silver spoon too? :D;)

I shoot my sp101 at the range a lot and like it... but just know that they have a LOONNNGGG trigger pull out-of-box.

This is true. The long trigger pull will smooth out over time (dry firing helps). You can also buy a spring kit to improve this LOONNNGGG trigger pull. :)

Is it ok to dry fire the SP101? Or any modern wheel gun?

I can't speak for other brands, but both S&W and Ruger say that dry firing is fine in their centerfire revolvers. S&W does, however, caution against dry firing their rimfire handguns and I think that Ruger may have a similar warning.

I think I want to go with the 2.25 bbl. I believe it will work out better for concealed carry. Most of ffl dealers don't carry them in stock. When they do happen to get one in they sell them fast. My local Cabelas has reasonable prices so Im gonna check them out.
