Ruger SP101

That is the only complaint I have with this gun, the heavy double action.

Dry fire. Every day. It'll both smooth up the trigger and strengthen your grip, both conducive to better accuracy.

I red fingernail polished my front site and that really helped.

Red is the first color to disappear in low light ....just sayin' ....... I used white.

I usually use gold but it doesn't work well on stainless steel guns.
I would have suspected white would wash out on ss as well, but whatever works for you. I'm happy with red on this gun. I can regularly hit soda cans at 15 yards with any .38 or .357 loads.

I was going to do it myself until I called a gunsmith and he told me it was only a $20 job. I figured it was worth that just to NOT potentially put a nick in the finish.

You punch out the pin, and then have to drill the new sight. The instructions with the new sight say to drill 1/2 way through from each side. I have a drill press, so I was pretty sure I could do it, but it is such a tiny hole it wouldn't take much for the drill bit to flex and scratch the gun. I just knew how sick I would be if I screwed it up, so I paid a gunsmith.

I traded a GP100 for an LCR. I love the LCR due to it being so easy to carry, but missed the GP. So I went out an got another GP. Now have best of both worlds.

I tried to have a big dot put on a Kahr PM9 by my local gun store and neither the front nor rear would fit. One was too large and the other too small. That store gunsmith said he hates big dots and that this is a frequent problem and that they are a pain to deal with about it. My only experience, perhaps it varies by model.

I have XS sights on multiple guns, and they (the company) are not a pain to deal with, nor have I ever had an incorrect sight, nor one that didn't "fit" sent to me.

The front sight on my 2.25" is a XS Standard Tritium Dot, not the Big Dot. I do have a Big Dot on another favorite revolver of mine:

I have Both!

I've had my SP101's for 8+ years. I won't part with them. But, I love my LCR's too. I carry the LCR's every day. An SP101, rides in the console of my truck, every day.
I love my Rugers, LCR's & SP101's;)

Yeah, I have a 686 w/4 inch barrel. Nice having a full size and a snub.
