Ruger SP-101 327 Mag

EHRMAGHERD!!!!!!

DO WANT!!!!!

This looks like the PERFECT kit/trail/camp/field/car/carry/home defense revolver. Six shots of .327 Fed Mag stopping power, all with a nice sized barrel with good sights on a small(ish) frame revolver that will be easier to conceal than my GP100?? This thing just looks like it would be perfect for all the above mentioned, which is basically anything and everything.

I will be a customer!!! One thing though, I sure wish "Ol Roog" would bring out the 3" SP101 in .327 again. Would be a bit more concealable, but I think with the right high ride pancake or IWB this 4" SP101 shouldn't be hard to carry at all, and you get six shots that are much more powerful and effective than .38 special yet don't have the recoil and muzzle blast of .357 magnum.

Just an awesome gun, thanks Ruger for putting another dent in my funds!

I sent Ruger a note on their "Tell the CEO" link about two years ago and recommended making that gun. They sent me a hat in the mail.

Now there it is!! I want it really really badly. You can all thank me :)

I may be temped to trade off my 3" SP101 for the new one. I have a 22 in the new style and really like it.

Ozzie--what are you looking for in threads about the 327 SP101? I am sure you know all about the 327 threads here. Specifically about the SP101?

Oh my God this gun just looks so awesome, it looks a great deal like the .22 SP101 but has a hell of a harder punch!!!

I think this will be my new EDC when I can get the gun, and an IWB holster made for it.

I hope they had an awfully ridiculous engineering problem on this as an excuse for how long it took. I'm not super excited about one, but when they introduced a 327 fed magnum single six first I couldn't believe it.

Ruger has made these before, with 3.06" barrels; they just re-introduced the caliber with a longer barrel and adjustable sights. I bought mine (with the shorter 3.06" barrel) in 2011.

The .327 mag literally spits at you -- stuff comes out everywhere (so wear good safety glasses). I don't think the longer barrel will solve that issue entirely (the muzzle blast might be less). Oh, and .327 mag is LOUD.

At 28 oz., the recoil is similar to .357 mag out of a 42 oz. GP100. And the grip is smaller (thus more felt recoil). [EDIT: the new version is a mite heavier at 29.5 oz]

I practice with .32 S&W Long (usually 97gr Fiocchi), and load 85gr .327 Federal Premium JHP's (low recoil PD327HSI). It does have a place in my HD setup.

From what i have heard. This is the gun 327 mag guys have been after.
SP101 size with a 4inch barrel.
Esp since Ruger discontinued the SP 101 with the shorter barrel
4 inch barrel is what is deemed optimum for the caliber.

I will let you know... I am buying one.

Nice, I was waiting for this exact model to come out, have one on order and excited to join the .327 club

Estimated any time in the next 30 days for delivery so not too bad if it's accurate, apparently per Ruger they have a bunch ready to go...

Does anyone know offhand (based on the older ones) if the cylinder can be cut for moon clips to use .32acp?

It might be able to, but why would you want to? .32 ACP is no cheaper than .32 S&W Long, and far less powerful than .327 Fed Mag.

I think a moonclip for the .327 Fed Mag would be all the cat's meows, plus a few bushells more to stick in your back left pocket for later.

A fair question; because I already have a fair bit of .32acp ammo (commonality), it'd be cheaper than .327 for practice, and it can be found in stores (I like being able to store buy if needed).

.32H&R mag is rare and pricey by me and I can't recall the last time I saw .32 S&W (long or not).

Of course I still intend to use .327 primarily, but versatility is always nice (and often fun) :)

I'm glad their making them again but I was happy that mine had tippled in price since I bought it. Now the resale price will go down.

Yea I checked Gun Broker. There were at least two SP101 3" that were about to close and had bids higher than $900.
Bet they are gona be mad when they find out.

I know my Taurus M327 has more than doubled in value since I got it.
