Ruger Single Six 9.5 barrel, opinions?

Congrats on pulling the trigger. That 22 mag will be humming with that 9 1/2 barrel. As for as the holster watch around gunshows and LGS for odd ball sized holsters. I found one for mine at a yard sale. Fits the gun fine the barrel sticks out about a 1/2 in. It was a homemade holster like some kids make at school in leather shop. Thiry years later it still serving well, I hope that kid got an A+ in shop.
 
A 9.5 single six ws what I learned to shoot with. I find them a little cumbersome, but when I need to shoot somethin with a 22, I generally grab it. So I'm a little biased. As for a holster, I work with leather on a mostly hobby basis, done about 25 holsters and all are still going strong. I'll pm you with my info.

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but Bob, did you ever setting on a holster?

I have a 9.5" as well, absolutely love it, but can't find any nice leather holsters available.
 
All, today I received IdahoMike's holster. All I can say is WOW, much more then I expected. The fit and finish are perfect, Mike is the man. He offered great communication, picts and a pleasant transaction.

Dr.Diesel, Yup, Idahomike is a real good guy. Great to deal with and his holsters are well made and good value. It's also nice to have something custom made for you by an American craftsman instead of the usual cookie cutter stuff.
 
I was about to suggest you make your own holster.
Whenever I have trouble finding something I need I often just make it. The holster for my Ruger Single-Six is unique although not beautiful. These things can be fun, and inexpensive projects.
 
Congrats on your purchase, the Six is one of my favorites for sure!

There's something women like about a Single Six man! ;) :D
