Ruger Scout and Mossberg MVP

I believe I read that Ruger has just come out with a Ruger Scout rifle, chambered in 223/5.56 NATO, with a detachable box magazine holding 10 rounds. Burris makes a nice long eye relief scope called the "Scout."

I've seen an heard {very loud -- IMO} some Ruger Scouts --- in 308 --- at our Marriottsville gun range.

ugly indeed.... ugly indeed... kills lot's of deer though... and it's quite comfortable... unless you're left handed.:D

I've been looking at both in .308 as well... was doing some research, as I like the Ruger rifle better myself, but don't like the longer than needed 10 rounder... ran across some discussion about these, & being Teflon coated stainless, double stack ( they are over an inch shorter ) & cheaper than the proprietary Ruger magazines... IMO, this is the only way to go for extra magazines ( unless you like the "High Point" look of the ugly glass filled nylon ones Ruger sells ;) )

also Boyd's has stocks for the Rugers... I'm looking at those as well

Tahunua, that lee-enfield on top looks nice.
thanks, it's not mine, stole the pic from my little brother to make a funny. it was built from a stack of enfield parts and that ramline was the only stock that we found from the entire stack that fit the action. I like ramlines personally, way better than ATIs.

sorry to the OP,
end of derailment.

A bolt .223 is generally not a gun id want. Add in a $70 magazine and a $1000 suggested price and its definitely not something I'd buy.

Well, I now own a 762 mvp patrol, all16.25 in barrel and open sigh tr s as well as included scope and I'm glad. It takes M14 mags, p mags, ar 10 mags. COOL!
