Ruger lcr

LCR trigger is nice and smooth but for me the reset feels extra long.
It'd bind up with me occasionally when firing fast. Try a couple of S&W snubs
in 38 before you buy. They run about $450

I have and sp101 in 2-1/4 and have actually thought about putting it in for an lcr or similar instead. Great gun for what it is but then again it is sure darn heavy for what it is its made to be shot alot. Then again i think there have been lots of snubbies that have been just as heavy and bulky both. I havent gotten rid of it yet only because im almost sure id just kick myself in the butt over it later.

Crank, I have an SP in addition to my LCR .357 and have had the same dilemma. The SP IS heavy, but it is also compact and easy to belt carry, and it will last forever. The weight makes hotter rounds easier to shoot also, something not as true with the LCR.

You are right to think about whether you will miss the SP or not, and unless you are SURE, I would keep it. I have wasted alot of time and money over the years "replacing" guns I should never have sold in the first place....

It takes practice, I carry the LCR in .357 mag. It is a handful with full tilt .357 SD loads. I usually fire 25 rounds through it each trip to the range, believe me, that's enough.

That being said it was not difficult to overcome, I shoot it often with full power loads. I shoot 158 grain rounds through it because that's what is most accurate. With the proper ammunition/powder choice there is little or no muzzle flash.
