Ruger LCP or Ruger LCR

This data is really tainted a bit since the OP premise is for "deep concealment". That pushes the meter in favor of the LCP by sheer inference, IMO.

Maybe, maybe not...

... depends on if one considers ankle carry. I'd say that's pretty deep concealment.

I don't like it, but I have several friends who routinely carry Airweights in that manner.

When the chips are down, I wouldn't bet my life on anything less than a 38 Special+P revolver...My personal choice is a DAO 357 Magnum Ruger SP101.

While that's true, lashlaroe, it might still be cool to see what people prefer but also, since the thread is so old, it might be nice to see a bit of an evolution.

I'm kinda thinking about how to compile it best and make sense out of it.

If you are REALLY in need of a deep concealment weapon you should really not feel the need to ask opinions on a forum

Second the choice between the two would be the one you're used to as far as auto or DA ---- Either of the mentioned Rugers are top notch in that price range

I would go with the LCP. I have one and I also have a Smith MP340, the LCP is much easier to carry than the snub and the snub is my favorite gun I own. I myself am confident of the .380 round if I need it.

Do you have a preference for one platform over the other? The LCP is smaller and thinner for easy pocket carry, but if you are very proficient with a wheel gun, it might make more sense to go with the LCR

You kinda have to play with things. I have a PM9 and a FIST K9 and thought it would be neat to have something smaller, so I bought a LCP and a FIST K9. I'd never have guessed, but the PM9 is easier to get out of a front jeans pocket because it sits up higher. There was probably no way for me to know that other than trying it out. But it's all good. I can carry the LCP in looser pants pockets, like Dockers or dress pants, where its lighter weight will be a real blessing, and keep carrying the PM9 in my jeans. Where concealment is concerned, you just can't go wrong by buying more guns.

I like the LCR , no safety and no thinking in time of stress, just pull it out and shoot. Being a revolver, it will shoot every time, without an untimely jam.

If appearance matters to you, get the LCP. In my NSHO, the LCR is one ugly revolver. Yeah, I know..... beauty is as beauty does.

LCP

I wear one every day and it is now part of my outfit. It is never an issue to conceal. The gun shoots reliably and is nothing to carry. Nothing against the LCR just an A+ expirence with my LCP.

And now your choice gets more difficult now the LC9 is now being sold. Haven't seen one yet but I am tempted as a SR9c was a candidate to replace / supplement my LCR.

If youre like me, and care a great deal about reliabiliry for CC, and wanna hear "BANG" if God forbid you ever have to pull the trigger... Chalk up +1 point for the LCR, and put aside any childish fantasy that you'll need more than 5 shots in an SD situation. Real Life Defense isnt a Steven Segal movie haha!

I carry a Ruger LCR, .38 special, when I'm not carrying my Ruger SP101, .357 magnum. My next purchase will be a Ruger LCR, .357 magnum.
The LCR .38, is a handy little gun to conceal & carry.
