Ruger LC9s Pro

I am in the minority: I have a plain old LC9 and like it just fine. The trigger isn't really that bad. I would prefer one without the safety, but it's nbd. If the pro is an improvement, it must be a great gun. I have fired hundreds of rounds through mine without a malfunction. The recoil is less than I expected.

I want to thank everyone for their contributions to this thread. I hope discussion can continue for the benefit of others who may happen to find this thread, because there's a lot of good feedback here.

I've carried my lc9s pro daily more than two months now. It replaced my sig p938 as pro is just a bit rounder edges and little lighter w/no beaver tail, essentially.

I carry it 95% and glock 27 (.40) 5% these days. I own most all in the small carry class in my quest for "perfection" and like this one the most to actually carry in t-shirt/shorts/jeans via IWB.

It's extremely accurate with many rds thru it now. No complaints. It isn't as fun to shoot as others for hundreds of rds, due to weight but still enjoyable for a hundred rds per session. My thumb does rub the ribbed, steel mag release which bugs after a few mags but no biggie...Trigger is very good for me, breaking point very clear.

Should have night sights tho! Only thing I'd add to it. Best value, by far, in this class of CCW's, imo.

Sounds like a real testament to the LC9s Pro. Being that I carry the G19 I've also been considering the G26 or possibly the G43 when it becomes available. The G43 could be in contention as the budget for a new firearm may take longer than expected to acquire. There's a lot of choices in the concealed carry arena. If I had my way I'd get the G26, G43, Ruger LC9s Pro, and a J-frame S&W while I'm at it for all my conceal carry needs/wants.:D

This is in response to greyezz, the LC9s had some problems with the guide Rod design that has since been replaced by a newer design. If the end of the guide Rod is shaped like a cone similar to a golf tee it's the new design, if not it's the old design which may cause the problem you described. If you contact Ruger CS they'll ship a replacement very quickly to you free of charge.

I've had the LC9s Pro about a month. I also have the Shield 9 and Kahr CM9 but prefer the Pro. Any one of the three is a good choice and operate much like a Glock (if you get the Shield without a thumb safety). I'd definitely try to fire all three, or at least handle them.

The LC9s is triumph by Ruger, they improved the LC9 almost to perfection and the new Pro model without a magazine disconnect and thumb safety is another big improvement. Comparing my Pro to a standard LC9s the Pro trigger is lighter and smoother. To improve the trigger and get rid of the annoyance it would be tempting to remove the magazine disconnect from the standard and then you'd have the brand new Ruger LC9s SemiPro!

Edit:
I got my Pro at the local Impact Guns for $350. I noticed that they still have that online price and at this moment they list it in stock.

Always liked the ergonomics of the LC9 from the first time I handled one at Cabelas when they came out. Bought one shortly after, hate the trigger but kinda got used to it. I have had issues with mags dropping and light primer strikes on PPU ammo, back to Ruger it went. Came back reliable, trigger still eh....getting used to it. Fondled an LC9s Pro today at the LGS. I've never sold a gun before, but just may have to replace the old LC9 with something that will fit one of the holsters I already have.

@Strut-
I understand the sac-relig with selling anything but I wouldn't hesitate. I'm definitely not a "ruger guy" as such but love this one. Heck, it's way more fun to shoot than its little brother, the lcp .380, I also own. Could prob get $2-250 out of urs and find the new one for $360-380, and no new holsters to buy. Not much loss really...
