Ruger LC9 in FDE as New CCW

I like the grip on my LC9 better than my shield, and it's also 3 ounces lighter as well. Gonna order a 9 round magazine soon for the range. I've been looking around for good affordable leather iwb holster options and decided to give Kusiak Leather a try. I'll let you know how it us once it arrives.

I bought a LC9s for pocket carry, then I got scared of it. My stuff is old and wore out but I still want to keep it. LGS got in a lightly used LC9 with LaserMax. We agreed on an even swap and we're both happy. I'm a revolver guy at heart and I don't see a thing wrong with that trigger.

Come on a revolver guy should be pocket carrying a j-frame ;)

To me these are to belt carry guns, none of my pockets are big enough.

Also, can you recommend a nice cheap tuckable iwb holster for it (under $50)?

Check out the Galco King Tuck. It will be very close to your $50 goal and not only is an extremely comfortable IWB holster, but can also be tucked for an extra level of "hidden." There is a trade of time to engage, but it isn't significant and, for me, the extra level of conceal-ability makes it worth it.

I've got the old LC9. I love it. I think the trigger is great, it's long, smooth, and not too heavy. Follow up shots may take a little longer because of all the finger travel required but it still holds more than a revolver and reloads faster. I shoot mine pretty well too. I have not tried the new one.

Best thing about the old LC9 is that with the manual safety and long double action trigger, I don't feel the need for a holster. I can just throw it in an empty pocket and it's ready for action.

Yours with the FDE frame looks nice. And you got yourself a decent deal too!

Found a Remora on ebay for $5.99 brand new in it's package! It'll be a great lil holster till I decide to order something a little nicer in leather.

I enjoyed my Kusiak IWB holster with the LC9. I've since sold it but I'm considering an LC9s now since folks are raving about the trigger.

I carry my LC9 in my right front pocket, when wearing cargo shorts during the warmer months. At 30 yards I can hit center of mass on a "torso target" with a magazine full of ball ammo. I doubt anyone will worry about trigger pull weight when the adrenaline is pumping so hard, that you can feel it in your temples.

I looked at both the LC9 and the LC9s and bought the LC9s. It's a very nice little gun. The triggers are very different. I think either one works fine, it's just a preference and what you are used to.

I did not get the Pro version, so mine has the safety. I bought it as a carry gun and picked up an IWB holster. At the range, with my regular target/plinking ammo (5g Unique, 115g Plated bullet) it was easy to put the entire magazine in a 3 inch group at 25 feet. I've never concealed carry before, but I have the permit and wanted the option.

At the range, I found that I accidentally hit the magazine release button firing the gun. I'm not sure why, but it happened a couple times. Of course, the gun stops operating when you do this. Concerns me a little.

I just upgraded from the LC9 to the new LC9s. The long draw pull on the LC9 trigger and reset distance is cause for "pull" effect on the targeting. The LC9s has vastly improved my targeting at 10 yards, with 50% less distance in discharge, and 35% less in reset. A vast improvement, and reason the prices of the LC9 are falling.

The LC9 is a great pistol, perfect size for CCW yet still can be accurate at the range.

That price at PSA for the LC9 is very tempting but these days it's wise to look at all three versions of the LC9 before choosing one. I recently bought the striker fired LC9s Pro and am pleased with it.

If you get the older hammer fired LC9 be sure you can live with the long trigger pull and don't forget all the extra safeties (hole lock, thumb, magazine disconnect and large, complex LCI).
