Ruger LC9 in FDE as New CCW

Was checking out the deals on gunwatcher and came across a Ruger LC9(not the new LC9S) in flat dark earth for $259 from palmetto state armory. I know the trigger pull on them are a little long but I'm used to DAO revolvers, so I thought "that's a great deal, why not." and ordered one.

Anyone still have the older LC9? Hows the newer ones with the striker (lc9s) compare? Also, can you recommend a nice cheap tuckable iwb holster for it (under $50)?

Because you asked. The new lc9(s) and pro striker fired pistols trigger pulls are night and day better than the older lc9. imho

Picked up the LC9 today from my FFL. The trigger on it is surprisingly smooth and light, not as bad/long of a pull as people make it out to be. Can't wait for a trip to the range. I'll upload a picture soon! Dig'n the color!

For me, the problem with the LC9 trigger has never been the weight or length.

Is it the inconsistent feel of the trigger and the awkward hinge point of the trigger, which forces an awkward motion of the trigger finger as you pull the trigger through its entire range of motion.

I like my lc9. Granted it's not a gun your going to shoot all day at the range, but I enjoy putting some rounds through it. I haven't had any issues with it.

I have one of the "old style" LC9's. To me the trigger doesn't seem great or terrible, just mediocre and kind of long. It is accurate enough for me at 7 yards. If I want to shoot 9mm at longer ranges I will pull out the CZ75. The LC9 seems more like a close-range pistol almost as small as a pocket pistol. I haven't tried an LC9s yet. I probably shouldn't. There is no use adding another handgun to my long want list. :)

I have an old style LC9. I tried a LC9s and the trigger felt a little better but not enough for me to trade for. I guess part of my perspective is I have a lot of target guns and neither model of LC9 have a trigger anywhere close to them. It is like two midgets arguing about who is taller. I am going to stick with the LC9.

The new striker version? I'd jump on that in a heartbeat--especially if you have a wi

No, its for the old version not the new.

Great deal

Congrats for scoring that deal. The old LC9 is not the best trigger-wise but is not the worst either. Most of the people who put it down have never even shot it.
