Only down side to Rugers is they have yet to master the art of drilling a .4525 hole in a cylinder. Maybe in another 50 years they will get the hang of it.
THe blackhawk and redhawk are the kings of the 357 magnum. All the old boys admit thats the only thing other then the N frame 357 theyll trust with elmer kieth loading data all day every day.
Now as to the use of it as a self defense weapon, its far better then a 22.
Subhuman to tell you the truth I really could not tell the difference on that 30 card Blackhawk, the dang thing is so loud to start with and already had an awsome fireball so....... That is why I started to reload for it.
smee78 yeah about what i figured , 5'' would be handy but im leaving mine alone, if my eyes are not fuzzy its the only 100 yrd pistol i own and it impresses the natives at the gathering when i get lucky and hit a skeet disc stuck in the dirt bank with it at that distance ( doesnt happen as much as it did 10yrs ago )
