Jim, I have never shot jacketed reloads through the gun.
I use Penn .45 Caliber 200 Grain Round Nose Flat Point Bevel Base for ACP and LC. For the ACP 1911’s that I own, I use 452 and for the LC, I use his .455. I will have to say that I have not shot that much ACP through the Ruger. Probably less than 100 total.
Since I use a bullet of two different diameters already for LC and ACP it was an easy experiment. Years ago when I bought the gun I did so for a test gun for ACP and hand loads. I felt the gun was a piece of junk for shooting ACP. Once I got smarter and the correct bullet diameter that matched the gun it became a very accurate gun. It still is not as good at the LC cylinder but very acceptable.
I am sorry if I gave the impression that the Ruger with the twin cylinder is less than a great gun. It is in fact a great gun, but it's an exceptional gun if you load for it. http://www.pennbullets.com/45/45200rnfp.html http://www.pennbullets.com/45/45-caliber.html
I am going to re-open this and ask because I only saw the Convertable 357 / 9mil metioned once, is it not as desirable as the Colt convertable?
I ask because it would seem that the .357 (being able to shoot .357 .38 and 9 mil would be the better choice, I also ask because Im trying to decide which of these to buy.
